Bloblings from all over Terrea have been hiding out outside of the Bunko Barn, waiting for the next time Rourick says they're open for business. Some of them have set up elaborate huts, so eager for the barn's next event that they've just decided to live there. Oh dear!
01/7/22 Hey there!
It's July now!
We've updated the Writing Prompts and Art Prompts for this month, so go take a look! We can't wait to see what you come up with!
This month is an Evolution Phase, and the thread will be being posted on the 5th! Stay tuned.
The mods and I did some talking and we have decided that it's time for us to focus on the overall site and its functionality first and foremost, rather than running any other story events at this moment. This means that for several months, we'll be putting our energy into updates like a Voucher Guide and a Newbie Landing Page that will benefit the whole site, but may not be as fun in the short-term. We may sprinkle in one or two story updates here and there, pending on some further decision making behind the scenes.
This does not mean that Prompts or Mini Missions will stop, but it *does* mean that I (Ichor) will be unavailable for anything that requires my art for the foreseeable future/as of this post. This means that people who wish for Makers, Insta-Bleeds and Insta-Evos and more should go ask one of the other mods very nicely if they're willing to art those. Players who do so should pay 50 percent of the item's price to the artist and 50 percent to the Terrea PayPal.
Our Discord server is invite only. Please DM Ichor or Saerfall after you've submitted your blobling claim form, and we'll send you an invite link. We spend most of our time on our Discord, so if it seems quiet here, we're probably all sequestered away in our server.
Blubi's usual cavern home was much more crowded than usual today, as four bloblings were chatting idly around the wooden table, excluding herself as she cooked them a meal.
Rokka was eagerly pacing back and forth, sparkles in his eyes as he thought of the current chaotic state of Terrea, and the future possibilities for battle and excitement. He was one of the first to be recruited for this new big project, considering he dashed over as soon as he saw the recruitment poster fluttering through the wind.
Balkua was sniffing the air and looking around the cavern curiously, the smell of food ever present in Blubi's home considering her frequent culinary adventures. He was lured here via the promise of freshly made food every day, which included desserts!
Moluse and Saphir were the most serious of the bunch, and would probably help a lot with the planning, since they were currently letting Blubi know what they had heard about the burying incident. It seemed that they were in the area looking for something when they saw the poster and decided to join.
Now what were all these bloblings joining you may ask?
The building of a stronghold, here in the mossy mountains and climate caves. A safe haven if you will, for those rejected by Reinala, and to protect against Vermin.
A Winter Stronghold.

Blubi and the four discussed much over their meal, after being mildly amused by watching Balkua eat a sweet pastry bigger than himself.
They had all seen the friendzy post by colliseum extraordinaire Parabellum, and decided to look over it again in their minds. Guards. Weapons. Walls. These were the main points that seemed vital to a decent stronghold, or at least one that they wanted to make.
With that in mind, they threw more ideas forward as Blubi jotted them down on some papyrill paper, using black ink gathered from a ferrowood bucket. Rokka was rather... over-ambitious with his ideas, wanting floating defences, turret towers and other crazy things. He was quickly shot down by Saphir who gave him a death glare and a snort, and it was only after Moluse and Blubi placated them that they began to cooperate and discuss again.
In-fighting wasn't quite a good start to stronghold planning, so Blubi was a little worried but she persevered. Afterall, this was something that threatened hers, and everyones, livelihoods. She didn't mind being buried seven feet under, but if they did such a thing to Ruru, Slepi, Katria or Momo, she would lose it. She knows she would. She couldn't let that happen, at all costs.
After a long while of more serious debate and discussion, they decided on a nearby mountaintop as the location for the stronghold. It was much taller than the one Blubi currently lived on, and also flatter and broader, giving them much room to build.
Blubi wanted to build the base first, and pondered the blueprints for the central building. Rokka wanted an epic tower to throw and shoot things from, four of them even, but Blubi managed to persuade him on just one for now, probably connected to the central base, so those two began to plan that out.
Saphir was in charge of the first line of defence, the walls. For now, since they weren't at all sure when an attack could happen again, they decided to make it out of stone and reinforce it with terreden spit, courtesy of Balkua, who was playfully coming up with weapon designs. Saphir also wanted a moat of some kind in the future, but that was too ambitious short term, so he just kept the idea in mind.
Moluse wanted to recruit more bloblings to help, considering it would be for the good for everyone, so she borrowed some of Blubi's pre-made desserts and flew around gathering people. That was, only after she assured her prickly brother Saphir that she would stay safe.
Querida was surprised when another blobling flew up to her holding a scrumptious dessert. She'd been drawing hearts on the ground and had been feeling lonely for quite some time.
"Oh my. Aren't you lovely?" she said, her voice sounding melodic and gentle. "I certainly appreciate such a kind gesture. I haven't seen another blob in a long time. I guess I've gotten rather... lost."
She rubbed the back of her head. "But I would love ever so much to repay your kind gesture, dear one. Is there anything I can help you with?"
It was hard to tell if she was looking directly at the blob or not due to her lacking eyes, but her head was tilted in the other blobling's direction.

"I hope you enjoy it." Moluse smiled sweetly, as her eyes peered over the feminine blobling in an analytical manner. Any help was better than no help, but this blobling had long limbs and seemed to be quite smart, so Moluse felt particularly inclined to recruit her. Her eyes sparkled when she brought up the matter of help herself.
"Well, if you're feeling lonely and inclined to help me out in return, there is this Winter Stronghold I and a few other bloblings are building to defend against Vermin and his gang."
"I trust you've heard of the burying incident in the Smiley Sands? We're trying to defend against such a thing happening again by building a base here in the mountains, if you're interested of course."
"Hm, our chief has promised us a nice meal with treats every day if that helps convince you to join? You can also just come chat with us whilst we work if you don't want to help~"
Moluse reasoned evenly, trying her best to persuade the sweet blobling before her. After all, just because she might not help now, doesn't mean she can't be convinced in the future~
Querida held the treat close to her chest, then she took a tentative nibble. She smiled gently.
"Yes, I do. Very much."
She gave a nod of her head. "Yes, I have been feeling quite lonely. I'd be glad for the company."
Her mouth formed a surprised o-shape when Moluse informed her of the winter stronghold. She tilted her head when the fluffy, winged deer-like blobling told her the stronghold was meant to defend against Vermin. She shook her head.
"As I've said, I've been up here for a while by myself. I haven't heard anything, I'm afraid. But oh, that sounds positively dreadful. Of course I'll help!"
She bit into the treat again and made a 'mmm' sound.
"Oh! You're fine, lovely one. I wouldn't want to impose on your chief or loaf around while you guys do all the work. Besides, what you described sounds terrible. I couldn't in good conscience NOT help."
She held out her hand. "I am Querida, by the way. And you are?"

"Maybe it's for the best that you haven't heard of it, it's... truly not a pleasant thing to hear about. Just know that we're building a defence of sorts, or a safe haven, for those that need or want it."
Moluse explained carefully with a sad smile. It was true after all, she genuinely didn't want something like that to happen again, to her or her brother. She wasn't big-hearted enough to care about all bloblings, but at least for herself and Saphir, she wanted a safe place to retreat to.
"I'm glad to hear that you're willing to help out our cause! I'll bring you to Blubi, our leader/chief, right away~"
Moluse's eyes twinkled with satisfaction as she prepared to take off into the skies again. She noticed that the humanoid blobling had wings, so she just naturally assumed she could fly too.
"Oh, I am Moluse. A pleasure to meet you Querida, such a pretty name. I don't know many bloblings with a 'Qwe' sound in their name."
She spoke amiably, before leading Querida to their stronghold high up in the wintry mountains, either on foot or by flight. (gigglecake)
By this time, construction work had begun in the stronghold.
A short wall of stone encircled the perimeter, its planned height yet to be built fully. The most noticeable object from afar was the stone gate with a lock, courtesy of Saphir and Blubi's combined efforts. It was currently wide open, since there was no need to lock it yet, with Blubi and Saphir each holding a key.
There was a large circle of rocks within the short walls, laying out the foundation for the base that had yet to be built. A smaller circle of rocks was within this circle, signifying the tower that Rokka was so excited to build.
Building materials were organized into piles around the base's foundation, with mounds of stone, ferrowood plates and bleeding heart tree wood. Some make-shift daggers were strewn about dangerously, courtesy of Balkua's handiwork. And a large terreden was sleeping randomly amidst the piles of resources.

Querida nodded firmly. Good! A place of defense and safe haven to protect bloblings from such atrocities sounded like a good plan! How lovely of this blobling and her chief to have come up with it. She followed Moluse on foot and appeared apologetic.
"I'm afraid I don't have much capability with my wings. They're a little on the, uh, low side. It makes balancing and keeping myself up in the air difficult," Querida said.
"Besides that, it's much easier to hear things and navigate on the ground." She waved a hand in front of her face to emphasize the fact that she didn't have eyes.
"But please, don't worry. I will definitely be able to help you with this safe haven project! Just lead the way and point me to what I should do first!"
