01/12/23 Hey there!
It's DECEMBER now!
It's snow month now! aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, I hope you're all ready! To start with, as always, we've updated the site with some new Prompts and Dailies. This month, we're allowing players to choose which prompts they'd like to do, so surprise me! I'm looking forward to seeing what you all pick.
The mods are busy brewing up the droplets for your viewing pleasure. In the meantime, this month is an Evolution Phase! Players will get to submit their blobs for our on-site artists to evolve, and help you bring your visions to life. This month's Evo Phase will be starting on the 6th.
Can you believe it's almost Christmas? Time is zooming too fast.
Our Discord server is invite only. Please DM Ichor or Saerfall after you've submitted your blobling claim form, and we'll send you an invite link. We spend most of our time on our Discord, so if it seems quiet here, we're probably all sequestered away in our server.
The first thing Blubi did when she received the feathered blobling's little quest, was to scout out the lil place she was advertising! All in all, the village was a sweet little settlement. A little crude sure, but the houses had a homely feel and the bloblings seemed all smiles as they passed her by. Formed out of cement, terreden spit and stone, with some newer ones made out of planks of wood from Onyxia, the houses themselves were quite cute. Perhaps not quite the size for giant bloblings, but enough for ones around her stature.
As she was scouting some of the homes yet to have inhabitants, Blubi decided on where she'd go to scout some potential new residents, the Smiley Sands. I mean, the village was already located here right? Surely those that chose to traverse and wander the sandy landscape were fond of it, and would like a home in that kind of environment? It generally made sense in her mind, so that's what she set off to do; wander the Smiley Sands.
Well, Blubi had no idea how long she had wandered for but she hadn't really made any progress. She had talked to a few bloblings, but they seemed on their way to other places and weren't too keen on having a sandy abode. She couldn't blame them, she herself chose to live atop a snowy mountain: perhaps trying to advertise something you yourself arn't preferential to is a little difficult.
Such thoughts occupied her mind until she literally watched a new blobling pop into existence. They seemed confused, curious and a little frightened of her when she approached, but seemed keen on having a place to call home when she offerred. Maybe a sense of stability is what they wanted as a new existence? Who knows. Blubi felt a little bad at seemingly duping the naive little guy, with skin of salmon and blood of water, but they, who later named themselves Salli, reassured her that this was something that they wanted.
After showing the little blobling around the homes, letting them decide on one and introducing them to B, Blubi waved them goodbye and wished them well in their new life here on Terrea... and in B's village. Maybe she'd pay them another visit sometime!
The tinkling of bells tickled Aerfeli's many ears as she approached the lively meowler pens, two little curious smucks in tow. Pulling open the wooden gate with a gentle hand, she ushered her two companions inside before closing it, keeping a calm wary eye on the meowlers around who might've eyed up the chance to break out and cause mayhem. Lerinzia already had a lot on her plate, it'd be awful if she added even more havoc to her situation.
Thinking of which, she spotted the fluffy blobling scurrying about her day with a smile not far away. Approaching with her own gentle smile, Aerfeli began her introductions.
"It's nice to see you again Lerinzia, I hope the little meowlers here haven't been causing you too much trouble." She chuckled before lightly gesturing towards her two goopy companions. "Here are my little smucks, Gopi and Repi. They have quite different personalities, but I love them all the same." She beamed, as she watched the two greet the fluffy stranger.
Gopi seemed curious and eager, wobbling his way over with a childish but lively energy. He gave Lerinzia a lil goopy hug before beginning to babble nonsense to her. On the contrary, Repi stayed resolutely by Aerfeli's side, playing with her vines mischievously though occasionally casting a curious eye towards the many meowlers around, as well as Lerinzia herself.
It was somewhat amusing how different the two were, considering how they grew up in the same environment and were actually quite similar at their core. Aerfeli would never force either to change, she loved them the way they were and cherished their differences. They had a long day to go, playing in the meowler pens and helping Lerinzia a bit. Hopefully they'd have a good time and/or experience here.
Some time later, she softly squished the goopy cheeks of her little companions to show her affection, playing with the cold stickiness on her fingers before taking them home.
Balkua was in an absolutely terrible mood. Despite feeling the sandy breeze whisking his body through the sky, he could feel no exhilaration; no excitement. It was if the world he once loved to explore had suddenly turned colourless and grey. Why was this you ask?
Perhaps for some, this was nothing more than a simple desire for candy. But for Balkua, he felt as if his life was on the line! It was no joke, that Balkua loved sweet things. Everyone around him knew this. It was as if his sweet tooth had multiplied and filled his mouth, making him incapable of surviving without sweets for a day!
And so, he was on a journey. His supply of candy had long gone dry, forcing him to venture into the unknown for that sweet relief. Fluttering through the world as a little pink sugar fairy, he journeyed over dunes of sand and mountains of ice for his cravings.
An unbearably long amount of time later, he found it. His salvation, and new place to call home.
A milkshake tree.
This lonesome stalk was planted a fair distance away from Onyxia, the dark city only faintly showing up over the horizon. It seemed lonely, with its fellow trees planted much closer to the city itself. But Balkua cared not for these little things. Being a tiny palm-sized blobling, this sole milkshake tree was enough to be heaven to him.
Gliding over with his gradiented blue wings, he dived headfirst into the topmost strawberry layer of the milkshake tree, melting into the sweet fruity delicacy spreading through his being. As he consumed and continued travelling downwards into the cool liquidy interior, hints of cocoa graced his mouth, before slowly becoming a sweet refreshing vanilla.
Only after he had his fill of sweet milkshake flavours and cookie-flavoured milk, did he curl up into a little pink-blue ball on top of the whipped cream, sleeping with sweet satisfaction.
Saphir had that dream again. Of the very first time he opened his eyes in this strange world.
A figure in pale purple-pink, stood just outside the strange rainbowy blood mix on the mountain floor. He couldn't see very well, with the goop covering him and forming his body, but he remembered how beautiful she was.
Two petals came off the side off her face, framing her lovely teal-pink eyes that smiled at both him and his sister so warmly. The glowing star just beneath her right eye seemed to briefly blind him in awe, as her eyes curved into smiling crescents. Tendrils of green flowed from the leafy collar around her neck, vaguely covering the three-star markings on her arms, and the winding vine-branches around her torso.
He didn't get to see much else before she vanished from his sight forever, as such an ephemeral sight, but his sister told him she had lovely wings and a long winding tail, each dotted with beautiful rainbowy eyes.
He had to find her. He wasn't sure why, maybe it was like a child's longing for his parent, but he wanted her company. Where could she be? Why didn't she wait for them?
He had many questions, but fortunately his sister was by his side during their journey together. They often talked about this, wondering how she was doing, and whether she was well. Even though they could've just been abandoned by her, they had to know. The warmth in her eyes and smile didn't seem so fake. But perhaps it was all an illusion? Such constant thinking made their heads hurt, so they chose to just find her and get their answers themselves. She had to still be out there. And maybe, just maybe, she'd let them stay by her side.
Awakening from his little nap, he gazed at the endless swampy abyss before them, the next destination of their journey.
Olsynthe was merely taking a peaceful walk through Onyxia Sanctuary when he was somehow roped into this sudden job at the library. He wasn't particularly distressed by the situation, opting to make use of the opportunity to have a look around. It had been a while since he had come to the library afterall, last time he came, he accidentally made quite a stir amongst the book lovers...
"Hey, have you read Undersea yet? It's soooo good." "Ah, not yet, everyone's been talking about it though." "That's because it's amazing! You'll love the character development in it, and ah, Kuli is so dreamy~"
Oh. Turns out he still is making quite a stir amongst the book lovers, as the author of Undersea. It made Synth happy that people enjoyed the little book he wrote though, he wasn't expecting it to be loved by so many.
As he peered around the shelves, his tallness making it easy to see his surroundings, his gradiented eye noticed a little fairy-like blobling near a window, book in hand. She darted her head around suspiciously, before attempting to take flight quickly with the book in hand, but was stopped by Synth's well-timed tail obstruction.
"Oi, get out of the way! The librarian will be back any second now..."
"...You shouldn't steal little one."
Synth replied calmly to the fairy's frustration, much to their annoyance.
"Huh?! Why not! That librarian is such a spoilsport, keeping all the fun behind these walls. I just want to read books!"
"Your opinions are valid, but I believe the librarian is a needed figure in these parts. Without her, I doubt nearly as many books would be kept so neat and orderly. Many would be lost in the sands of smiley sands, or in the swamps outside of the city, unable to be read ever again. The library is a precious place, and she is a much needed protector."
In the distance, the sight of the librarian returning quickly caused the fairy blobling to scowl and retreat, with one last glare at Olsynthe, though she seemed quite thoughtful after his little speech. With the book returned safe and sound, Olsynthe walked back to the entrance of the building to welcome the librarian back and take his leave.
Saphir snorted coldly at the mere thought of romance and all the fluttery feelings it seemed to offer, but he accepted Sakana's challenge nonetheless. He felt compelled to give it a try, this flirting thing or whatever, since he was biding time awaiting for his sister's return. There was only so many things to do around here afterall.
With a flap of his wings, he vanished from atop the arena's walls, flew high in the reddish skies and looked around for a target. However, the field of cuteacups just outside the city caught his eye. After a moment of thought, he swooped down and carefully looked around. A gift would be nice wouldn't it? Saphir thought to himself, taking this flirting mission much more seriously than he initially wanted to.
Approaching one of the dainty white flowers, he whispered praises of how beautiful it was before plucking the thorn-less flower and flying back to the arena. Annoyed by how seriously he was taking this, he randomly picked a blobling and approached them with even steps.
The bipedal blobling was primarily light green in colour, with a floaty flowery head and dots of teal across their skin. They were simply watching the fights in the arena on their lonesome when Saphir had approached.
Offering the white cuteacup to them with his tail, he spoke with barely an ounce of emotion.
"Hello, I thought this flower matched your beauty, so I'd like to offer this as a gift."
Saphir was terribly inexpressive, and stared calmly at the blobling he just complimented so bluntly, but they seemed to enjoy it nonetheless. A pinkish blush tinged their cheeks as they shyly took the flower from his tail, seemingly in awe at the whole situation.
"Thank you..." Their quiet voice replied as they peeked at Saphir every now and then from behind the flower.
"...What is your name?" Saphir asked after a moment of thought, sitting neither too close nor too far from the shy blobling.
"Ashia. Wh-What about you?"
"Saphir, it is a pleasure to meet you." He replied as coldly as ever, but fortunately the shy blobling didn't seem to mind his tone.
The pair continued to talk about mundane little things, like the fights going on below or the godborn situation, whilst Saphir eased his way closer to the blobling as they opened up.
"...You are quite pretty and kind." He spoke after a pause, before leaning in and pecking them on the cheek.
They were shocked still at first, before blushing beet red. Just when Saphir was about to say something more, the flowery blobling reached over and gave him a little kiss on the cheek of their own.
Saphir was stunned briefly, before gracing them with a rare smile.
The whole exchange was rather awkward, for two bloblings who seemed rather disconnected with social interaction, but the pair enjoyed each other's company regardless. Even if they didn't leave as those crazy lovebirds he had seen about, at the very least, he had made a new friend.
