Sand, Sand Everywhere and Not a Grain to Poke

"I just don't. " The dark blob said grumpily. The blob looked around herself at the expanse of the sand. It seemed to go on forever. Off in the distance she thought she could see a tall siluate poking its self out of the sand. And it seemed to be wearing a hat. She could barely see the different colors of the hat. Now that she was awake and out of her comfortable sand she started to wonder where she was and why there was all this sand. She turned back to the teal blob. "Well, now that you have awakened me, tell me what your name is! "

The black blob was a little taken aback. Her name? Did she have a name. Did she ever have a name. She tried to think as far back as she could but all she remembered was being surrounded by warmth. And try as she could she could not remember her name.

"My name.... Well um, I can't remember?" She was starting to get a little scared. Why could she not remember her name? Did she never have any?

"How do you know that your name is Petra?" She asked the blob next to her.

She looked down at herself. Long furry things? Oh it must mean the tail.
And she had arms but no legs?

"I don't know, I must walk on my hands?" She answered unsure of the answer herself.
She started to walk around. Her arms shaking with the strain of holding her whole body up. Maybe they would get stronger the more she walked...

"You just poked yourself?" The black blob asked. She really didn't believe that, that was all it took. But just to make sure... She reached out with a black claw and poked at her ears. Nothing. No name. Not even a hint. Maybe if she poked the other ear. Nope, same result. Did she not have a name? What kind of creature is she if she didn't have a name!

She watched as the Petra rolled around in the sand. She knew she didn't walk very well but she would not give up. She would either get stronger or she would find another way to get places.

She looked down at her hands. Why Was she like this instead of a round blob like Petra?
"I don't know why I have hands. Maybe we can find someone who can tell us."

She started hand walking toward the tall siluate with the funny hat on. Maybe it was someone who could tell her.

She went a couple of steps before her arms gave out and she went face first into the sand. There has got to be a better way then walking on hands. Maybe if she scooted?

But that did not work any better.

She tried bouncing and that was a little better but it was still hard. She had to be careful not to bounce on her tail.

Then when she bounced a little too long she found herself hovering above the ground.

She could make herself go forward and backward and side to side. She couldn't move very fast but at least it was easier.

"I think I found an easier way to move that doesn't require rolling she called out to her friend. Then she proceeded to move closer to her objective.

As she got closer she could tell that what ever it was, was big, very big. And that the bottom half seemed to sink into the sand. And was black. The top Spread out in colors she had never seen before. Which wasn't hard since all see had seen before this was different shades of red. But this...Thing had a color for every one of extensions.... And was that a smiley face in the center? What ever it was it cast a welcoming shadow and She was more then happy to stop and rest.

"I don't know what it is but is sure is pretty!" She said to the blob next to her.
"Shall we go and poke it to see what it is? She asked with a friendly smirk.

She looked up at the colorful top.

"Yeah I think your right. " She said still looking up into the colorful top. It provided shade and... She went to poke at the stem too. It was a little hard but it gave it a little.

"Do you think its alive like us? She asked the Petra. Just then she heard and felt since her hand was still on the stem a humming. A happy humming. She put her head on the black portion next to where her hand lay.

"Do you hear that? What is that? It's so nice and I like it. "

This was nice. She placed her body right up against the stem so that she could feel the humming through her whole body. She found herself closing her eyes and just enjoying sitting here. The nice cool sand seemed to hug her body. But was this all there was? It was nice but there had to be more out there then just this sand and this... Whatever this was. And she still needed to find a name for herself. Maybe she would find one if she looked farther.

"What do you think is out there?" She asked Petra, her eyes still closed.
"Do you think there is more then just this sand?
