Floating carefully in order to prevent their long water hair from touching the floor or worse the books, Enfys had paused their study of the library as the sound of sobs reached their ears. The quinborn had then proceeded to change directions towards the sound of the sobbing, moving slower and more carefully, not wanting to startle whomever it was.
It turned out to be Curi, a being Enfys had heard of but never yet met. And as Curi spoke, Enfys listened with kind ears. "It is okay to cry," Enfys compassionately reassured Curi when the godborn had finished speaking. "There is no shame to it, you do not have to fear judgement from me. All beings that feel will at times feel sad. It is natural."
"My name is Enfys, and I will gladly tell you a story if that is what you wish. I am happy to try to help however I can," Enfys introduced themself, then paused briefly. "...I suppose the last time I was sad was rather recently, when I was at the meowler pens. ...The meowlers were absolutely charming, of course, it was no fault of theirs."
"In fact, it was no fault of anyone at all. It is simply..." Enfys considered how to word what had upset them so at the time.
"...Well, I suppose it starts at my beginning. I was formed the way that you see me now. Because of my form, I have limitations. I have no feet to walk with and even when I float I must be careful. And... I cannot easily touch others, with my shackles. My limitations remind me of the significance of freedom, so I do not generally rue having them."
"Yet, when I was at the meowler pens... I admit, I was taken by sadness that I could not even pet the meowlers. Such a simple joy to most, and yet one I would likely never know."
"...Perhaps it seems a minor thing to be sad about. Yet, all sadness is valid. I hope I was able to help at all with your own sadness."
