What sorts of role plays do you enjoy the most?

I legit never played any rp besides D&D, and im not too keen on having combat in this one xD

The very open-ness of this is amazing! I like fantasy genres, but this game is covering it nicely :3

I enjoy more urban fantasy than I do straight up fantasy. Role plays I usually get involved in are typically school-type role plays with magical elements, or city-style role plays where players get to play from within different secret 'factions'.

That said, I also really enjoy combat-focused role plays. >>; It's been a while since I've been in one, but that's how I got my start. I joined a DBZ combat chat room and went to town... of course, the chat room role play I was in went based on typing speed, so if you didn't type fast enough, you got destroyed. x-x It was nuts.

Oh yeah pokemon. The only pokemon rp i did lasted 3 days before it died, but I still have my character sheet xD (Proceeds to paste a long sheet {Well dang this is the most words I've ever posted})

Name: Orora Vitae (Or Professor Vitae)

Age: 38

Gender: Male

Sexuality: Straight

Legendary: Suicune

Appearance: Light purple faded hair, shortcut, bangs on the right with Blue Eyes. 5’9” and 148lbs. He has a light blue overcoat with gold colored rim and a dark grey button up shirt underneath. He also wears dark grey slacks with short black boots. A long white scarf hangs around his neck, with the ends behind his back.

Mark: He has a bio-luminescent white ribbon twirling up his left arm up to his shoulder.

Terms of Pact: You are to not catch any innocent wild pokemon without their full consent, do NOT ride me, do not pollute the land as you travel, and try and keep your identity quiet.

Pokémon: Suicune| Genderless| Legendary Dog| Timid but intelligent| Cares only for other pokemon and their vessel so they won’t go dormant.

Tetsu| Male| Klefki| Tetsu was once a wild pokemon, but was lured to Orora by his key that can unlock different pokemon centers, so the Klefki decided to join the team. He now has over ten keys that include his safe, pokemon center, and his study.

Ishi| Female| Leavanny| Ishi was first a little Sewaddle given to Orora by his father and was his first pokemon. She didn’t like Orora at first, but when he was determined to make her stronger, Ishi grew a liking to him and decided to train to be a doctor. When she evolved into Leavanny, she was officially certified to be a doctor in a pokemon center.

Toraburu| Male| Ninjask| When Orora came across his first egg he was ecstatic, so he warmed it and waited for it to hatch. Out came a nincada, and it was named Toraburu, or “trouble”. Orora knew this would be an extremely fast pokemon, so he decided to train it to increase it’s speed.
One day it evolved to Nincada, the second fastest pokemon. Torabaru took a liking to his trainer since Orora didn’t give up hatching his egg. Toraburu will do anything he can to protect his trainer.

Sabaku| Male| Helioptile| Sabaku was saved when the desert had a drought and Orora found him and gave some water. When Orora tried to be on his way, Sabaku didn’t want to be alone from the trainer that saved his life. Sabaku is scared of dark caves, afraid that he will never see the sunlight again. His food source is sun energy, so he dislikes whatever Orora is trying to feed him. Sabaku’s dream is to evolve for his trainer.

Hokori| Female| Piplup| Orora’s most recent member, and most prideful. She was injured from her battles with her siblings. Even if she was a half deaf runt, she was full of pride. Orora found her in the freezing cold on his travels to Mt. Coronet to learn of the Arceus myth. Even while Hokori refused to be helped, kicking and biting, she secretly enjoyed the soothing and the love. When Hokori fainted from blood loss, she was rushed to the nearest center to be healed. Hokori was then part of the team, mostly refusing to help unless it’s important. The only willing thing she will do is hold water like a cooler until someone praises her, then she lets them have a little water.

Personality: More of a logical thinker, tries to be a pacifist, scared of drowning. Very optimistic and likes to vocalize. Seem to have a dazed expression, but that is just him thinking constantly. If given permission, he would likely start analyzing your pokemon physically. He knows how to cook different types of pokemon type diets. He's a little self-conscious about his drawing skills, but he is working on it.

History: Pokemon Professor in training since he was young, self-taught. Instead of a holdable Pokedex, he has an earpiece that is yellow. He travels around the different regions to fill his Pokedex. One day team rocket came along when he was wandering in the forest sketching. Three people from Team rocket were hauling away pokemon when Orora stepped in and battled for the wild pokemon’s freedom. After a long and hard fight, he won, with Team rocket running away. Suicune, timid as they are, witnessed the battle, came up to Orora and offered a pact.

Other: He can walk on water, and use Suicune’s moves. Orora prefers to support others instead of fighting, but he will if he must.

XD I like that the suicine specifies that it DOES NOT want to be ridden.

Pokemon role plays get me too. x: And How To Train Your Dragon ones... really, any pet role plays or monster recruiting and/or raising role plays really get me. Video games, too.

I also really like chat role plays. o-ob Opinions on chat role plays?

That's understandable. I tend to enjoy places where I can take some time to edit my words a bit before I press enter. >>;

But I like chat role plays, as long as they fit with the setting and overall concept of the game. Dialogue is one of the best bits of role playing and chat role plays strip everything else away.

I like structure because i have seen way too many places where people could and did play as essentially omnipotent beings that could destroy multiverse on a whim.

I like school roleplays with magic or at least something cool though i don't like if magic or the cool thing involves mind control.

I like faction elements though i prefer faction elements to be used in a way that two players of different factions can still interact without baring their teeth at eachother or competition between factions can involve non-combative approaches like painting or oratory or etc.

I'm not gonna lie. I love numbers going up and my character improving though i like it when it takes a cooperative form. Like my character becoming the very best cook in the universe so that she can make delicious food for everyone. The idea of rising to the top by defeating other players feels contradictory to me. I mean if i make my character the strongest one there is that can take on the entire player base with one hand tied behind her back and her eyes covered then it won't give any joy as there is not really any conflict there and no one will want to interact with my character.
