Bloblings have noticed mysterious, gooey bloblings popping up in the world. Many bloblings are weary of them because of their resemblance to the tar from the tar pits, which have been known to eat bloblings for something called 'breakfast'.
01/09/23 Hey there!
It's September now!
We've updated the Art Prompts and Writing Prompts with some new stuff for September, as ever. I can't believe we're getting so close to the end of the year. o-o
It's going to be an Evolution Phase this month! Get prepared for the blobbles of the site to grow up into a new appearance that's all their own. We look forward to seeing what you come up with for your little dudes! The new mods will be opening up art slots to complete your blobs' new artwork. aaaaaa exciting~
The mods will be putting out their reserve slots, some for the very first time! Stay tuned!
Our Discord server is invite only. Please DM Ichor or Saerfall after you've submitted your blobling claim form, and we'll send you an invite link. We spend most of our time on our Discord, so if it seems quiet here, we're probably all sequestered away in our server.
(Dunno which of mah blobs did the thing, or which I prefer, sooooo..... now it's someone else's problem =3)
"This one's hella. I think the nodes in the vegetable thing should glow because we really don't have enough glowy stuff... come on, we can make anything and almost none of it glows. What's even the point if we don't make weird stuff together?" Dioscuri grins a wide grin that takes up most of her face, her fangs on full display. She tugs the physical representation of the noodle down from in between all of the others and fills it with colour as if she's pouring food colouring into a sponge, the colour slowly making its way from one side to the other, turning the grey to deep green, deep blue and glowy cyan.
All of the other blank example creatures disappear, blinking out of existence as if they were never there in the first place, leaving their spot in the sky uncomfortably and suddenly empty. The noodly boi that remains begins to move, putting one of its four feet in front of the others and slowly testing its mobilty. It walks much like any other four-legged thing does, its gait resembling that of a doggo or catto. "So this is how it's gonna walk... but I can't decide everything else about it on my own. Here are the questions on my mind when I look at this thing..."
"... what does its vegetable thing taste like? I think the lighter blue parts should be detachable, starchy balls, and the flesh around it should be like... a spongy, mildly fragrant kind of flavour. We could call the starchy balls 'glow spuds' and they'd be able to be boiled down into a weird, glowy paste. But that's just what I think! Tell me about the vegetable thing."
"Also, another question - how does the creature feel about the vegetable attached to it? Does it want to protect it, or is the creature itself the vegetable and the body is just a distraction and the vegetablecreature can detach itself from the bod whenever it wants and just run away? Or like... maybe the vegetable falls off pretty frequently, and they don't really care about it because they can grow a new one. Or maybe they think the vegetable tastes really great, so they kind... eat themselves. Is that weird? I don't care. Weird is good, probably." Ichor's Godborn chirps her ideas out quickly, each one with an equal amount of excitement behind it.
"What do you think?"
(Please respond with your vegetable ideas, and how you think the creature should feel about its veggie! You may do so IC or answer the questions in point form in brackets in an entirely OOC manner.
Violet considered herself something of an expert on the flavors littered about Terrea and the sensations that came with chewing on them. So, even if she had arrived late to this party, this was the most important part as far as she was concerned. A new thing to nom on. With that in mind she also eyed the godborn like she might try to get a bite of her too.
But, on task, she demanded with a happy frown, "It should also explode. Just the bits you said could be glowey. Uhhh like a poof-crackle kinda thing? They could sparkle while they do it. It should also have a bite to it-the main bit of the vegetable- something to sink your teeth into. We have a lotta squishy textures maybe something crisper err... crunchy? No... more of a snap?" The winged multi-tailed fox seem to get lost for a moment in her imaginings licking her lips. "We also have a lotta concentrated flavors so maybe something lighter? More subtle. Something... that can be savored...."
Vashidaan hadn't actually intended to come to this event and had just been passing by, but stayed once he realized what was going on. He watched the purple fox explain what she wanted and when she got wrapped up in her own fantasies he figured he'd share an idea of his own. Of course, he was less interested in the creature as a food-thing. "Would it be possible to have the spikes glow too? And be made of a workable material like the ferrowwood trees?" All he could imagine was how cool it would look to melt some glowy spikes down into a decorative design on something.
((And to clarify, Violet wants what amounts to a savory apple with firework-like poprocks. And Vaashidan *coughIcough* just wants to have glowy metal for weapons and armor and accents >.>;;
Beyond that since I dun have a blob that really cares. Maybe the spikes could also be used like flares as a form of self defense and fall off easily as a distraction?
I do love-hate the idea that the veggie is the creature and the creature itself the distraction tho. Weird as heck but if it can quickly regrow the body quick enough then it could be useful.
Maybe the nodes could also be seeds and it sheds them on occasion to make more? and eats the white grass and specifically needs a lot of water so it can stick around the CCDD? *shrugs*))
Fiona looked at the picture of the new critter. Having the vegetable be the animal just seemed wrong somehow. But she could see the critter protecting its Vegetable tail. As for the taste maybe something crunchy/Juicy. Something that would taste refreshing like..... Mint.
A huge swath of the bloblings around the Godborn had gone and wandered off, and she pouted to herself as she considered if they had just used her to transport them and nothing more... or if they simply found her presence unpalatable. Which was fair, considering she was like double the presence. She was a 2 for 1 deal, double the trouble. But that also meant she was double disappointed.
The half-blobling did find it easier to pick out the responses from the much thinner crowd, though, so... small victories?
"Kk, we can do like... a more mild flavoured thing. Let's make its flesh p mild too, like... stringy and meaty but more subtle so it can take on the flavours around it instead. The vegetable will have a crispness to it, and it'll keep it even when boiled or steamed, so it can be eaten hot or cold and it'll be crunchy still. As for taste, let's make it mild and vegetal. One of those things that tastes more like water than what it actually tastes like.
The nodes in the veggie will be the seeds themselves, and those seeds will grow more of the creature. That's ferro. Oh, and yeah, the spikes can be glowy and when they get pulled off of the creature they go goopy for like... some time. Sounds useful or whatever." Dioscuri nods, pleased with the words she's put out into the world.
"Sooo... let's wrap this up so you can all go back to whatever everyblobby was doing before this happened. What d'you think this creature should eat? How does it feel about others of its kind? What is its personality? How does it speak, if it does at all?"
I think that's p much all I need to know, so consider this your final chance to shout at me about stuff I asked for or stuff I missed. Go~!"
(This will be the last set of questions! After this, I'll go draw the creature itself. :3 The deadline for your answers is the 4th! What does the creature eat, how does it interact with others of its kind, what is its general personality and how does it speak, if at all?)
Fiona Thinks of all the different questions that has been thrown out. She looks at the creature.
I think this creature should be rather shy and somewhat hard to find. They live in packs of 5. I think it eats the tender shoots of the white grass which keeps the grass from growing out of control. It speaks in high pitched chirping sounds. Some of which are to high pitched for the average blobling to hear.
