Welcome to the site. :3 Terrea is a place full of squishy bloblings and many possibilities, and while we do attempt to encourage creativity and fun, there are a few things you should remember when you post here.
Our Rules:
1.) No bullying or harassment.
Do not harass or bully any of the other players. Making others feel unwelcome or unsafe is the fastest way to get banned.
2.) No excessive salt.
Venting is alright, in the proper forum, as is expressing frustration... as long as it doesn't become harassment.
3.) No 18+ content.
This is not an 18+ website. Please take anything spicy to Discord PMs or somewhere similar.
4.) Don't give out your full name or personal information.
Please do not give us your full IRL name or address. If it's necessary for something like making a Paypal transaction with us, that's fine. We will never give out your personal information. But the internet is filled with some mean peeps, so always be careful with your IRL info. That's just internet safety, kids.
5.) No spamming or double-posting, with some exceptions.
Please don't post more than once in a row in the forum games section, or any other section on the forum, excluding journal-type role plays or solo role play threads. Wait until somebody has replied and reply to them. If you find that you've posted and still have something to say, just edit your previous post with the 'edit' button. You may bump a thread if 24 hours have passed since your last post and nobody has replied to it. If you're found to be double posting, your posts will be combined and your earnings from one of the posts will be removed from your balance.
Our Guidelines:
1.) We have activity rewards! This isn't a rule. >>;
Players are encouraged to post once per week, and there are Coin rewards for posting more than that, up to 100 Coins for 100 posts within a week. These posts can be made in any board, including the one for forum games! Also if you log in and post in the Monthly Dailies Thread every day, you can earn some sweet login prizes!
2.) Event threads may have to move on without you, as they often have a time limit.
While there aren't any strict activity guidelines at Terrea, if you take too long to make a post in a thread, the story may have to move on without you. It's nothing personal, and you're more than welcome to reintegrate your blobling into the thread once you have some time. <3
3.) Role play posts must contain at least 100 words.
This is to prevent spamming in the role play sections, and to ensure that you're giving your role play partner enough to reply to. You're welcome to structure these 100 words in whatever way you wish. :3
If you're struggling to lengthen your posts to the required word count, here are some tips:
- Try thinking about, and writing down, what your blobling is thinking! Their thoughts might be very different from your own, so it's interesting to write them down physically and see how they come out.
- Try thinking about what your blobling is feeling at the moment. Write it down! Maybe they're feeling hungry, and it's odd that they're hungry because they could've sworn that the Goddess told them that they didn't need to eat, but they could really go for a sweet food right now...
- Think of what your blobling is seeing, hearing, tasting and smelling. Use their reactions to those things to give your blobling more to say and do, as well!
- Use adjectives. Instead of saying your blobling is talking, perhaps say that they're talking excitedly! Then, you can go on to say why they're excited and give even more insight into who your blobling is as a person.
There are hundreds of ways to write compelling posts, and they don't all necessarily relate to word count, either. :3 Try to find a happy medium between longer posts and incorporating interesting happenings into each of your replies, and I'm sure you'll be meeting and exceeding the requirements in no time. <3
This may seem a bit harsh to some, but at the end of the day, my time and effort as an artist are being given in exchange for words written here at Terrea, and there are still the Forum Games if you're finding it difficult to write 100 words.
Our Role Play Rules:
1.) No powerplay. This means that you're not allowed to hurt a player's blobling without asking first. Most people like to see their bloobs get beat up, but it's always more respectful to ask. If playing through a combat scene with somebody, make sure to also give their character room to react!
For example, the following would be hella illegal:
Then, the monkey dove from the sky and clawed the hell out of Exampline's eyes. No more eyes for Exampline!
This would be totally acceptable:
Then, the monkey lurched forward! Its arm was arcing toward Exampline's face, and its needly claws were headed straight for her eyes! Oh no!
In the first example, I decided the outcome, leaving the person playing Exampline with an injured blobling and no say in their character's fate.
That said, once magic becomes a thing and people begin to participate in the magical combat system, any bloblings who begin a magical duel automatically consent to the consequences. You've been warned~.
2.) No godmodding.
This was touched on in the post above, but it's worth mentioning that even outside of combat, you shouldn't be playing another person's character for them without explicit permission.
3.) Keep the OOC away from the IC.
If I tell you something is going to happen in the Discord, such as Yume setting Terrea on fire, I shouldn't see your blobling making posts where they start mysteriously covering the entirety of the Smiley Sands in water. That's not cool. Please try to keep that sort of knowledge out of your blobling's mind.
Our Role Play Guidelines:
1.) You may use random unnamed bloblings to help you with tasks, but they won't do anything suicidal.
It's come to my attention recently that people wish to utilize random NPCs for work and such. A 'named blobling' should be considered a main character in our little collaborative story, so it's pretty reasonable for them to have at least a few random bloblings who think they're neat and will listen to them. However, as we don't allow more than 1 blobling at first, I don't wish for these mooks to become second characters. If an unnamed background blob suddenly gains a family, children and a name, I'm going to start getting veeeeeery suspicious. >>; At that point, please just bite the bullet and make them into one of your blobs.
That said, a named blobling can gain the aid of up to 10 random bloblings at a time. These bloblings will have either no upgrades or one very basic upgrade, such as fur or legs. They will act in their own interests but can be treated as a friend. :3 As they should be.
... you're also welcome to 'kill' or maim as many of them in a day as you wish, provided you describe all the gory details to me.
