Terrean Pets!
This is the Terrea pets thread. We store all of the currently existing pets here. Pets are classified as animals that are able to form a strong connection with a blobling, and may be tamed in some way, if a blobling is persistent enough. Pets enjoy companionship on occasion and can be written by the player once they've been tamed. They function as a second character but cannot be brought into combat.
You can tame many different pets in the DIY Taming Thread, and you can increase your Affection with your pets in the Affection/Bonding thread, both found in the Taming Events section. :3
Increasing your bond allows your blobling and pet to be better buds, and your pet can unlock a cool bonus later on at Max Affection depending on what kind of pet it is.
Pets can be equipped and unequipped at any time outside of combat, but they only gain affection with a single blobling.

![]() Sand Camivian Info: This is a bird-like creature that boasts fur and feathers both. It has sharp, needly talons that move through dirt and sand like butter, allowing it to dig and even burrow. Its wings are large and capable of changing to match the appearance of its surroundings; usually, they resemble sand, as they tend to stay in dry areas and the desert is the driest piece of land on Terrea. Its wings are also able to elongate considerably, enough that it could easily envelop two or even three base bloblings in the roomy tent that they would create. Three gems create a line on its forehead, and they change colour when the blobling the creature is bonded to is feeling a strong emotion, kind of like a mood ring. These creatures are goofy, charismatic bird-friends that are extremely loyal and will do anything for the blobling that decides to take them in. They seek out the gems that are buried deep beneath the dirt, as they believe that consuming them will make the gems on their forehead even more lustrous. In a pinch, however, they will just eat sand. To accommodate this instinct, their beaks are as sturdy as diamonds, and are often used as weapons when their corpses are found. Rather than speaking in words, this creature speaks in raw emotions. Most often, it's used for calming down anxious bloblings, but in the hands of more mischievous sorts, it can be used to project anger or sadness as well... and its dagger-tipped talons and razor sharp beak suddenly look much more threatening. Its chest is lined with thick, downy fur, so its hugs are extra cushiony and warm, though! Obtained via: The Smiley Sands population Event, and the DIY Creature Taming Thread. | ![]() Terreden Info: This creature is rather large compared to the bloblings, standing at about six times their height. It is a heavy creature that moves slowly, deliberately, and the leaves on its back rustle as it walks. Its skin is a leathery hide that feels warm to the touch, but not hot enough to burn. Small rocks are embedded in its skin and are attached to its skeleton, and its claws are incredibly sturdy, as they're made out of bone! Because of their strong claws and impressive endurance, they're able to dig for hours on end without stopping. With a little time and persistence, these boyos can carve a cave into a cliff side. The leaves on their back have life-giving properties. Once every year or so, one of their leaves will fall off naturally, and they are considered to be a very generous gift. A single leaf from one of these friends can fertilize a garden for a year if it is left to steep in the water being used to water the plants, and the greenery said water is used on will be extra luscious and long-living. Oddly, these creatures almost never open their eyes; the bright lights and sensations are a little too much for them and they prefer to simply live in darkness. During times of great danger, they may be convinced to open them for a short time... but doing so quickly drains them of their energy. Their nose is an extremely sensitive fleshy star that helps them to navigate while their eyes are shut, and their tail is quite sensitive as well. It sweeps behind them while they walk, checking for anything out of the ordinary that their nose may have missed. Their spit, when combined with sand and left to develop for a while, forms a rock-like material. Thusly, it can be used to fuse stones together like concrete or be painted on the walls of caves to reinforce them. While these creatures are slow, hulking beasties with impressive clawdies, they don't often find themselves with much company. Often, they're misunderstood because of their size and their dagger hands and others won't approach them, but they're quite gentle and appreciate an extra pair of eyes to help them along. And if you stay long enough, they may be willing to give you their leaves! Obtained via: The Smiley Sands population Event, and the DIY Creature Taming Thread. |
![]() Smuck Info: This creature is an icky mess of black goop with a face. It has two arms and, interestingly, gooey hands with three fingers and a thumb at the end of each one! Even when it's sitting still, it's constantly in motion, its tar-like mass dripping down into the puddle that sits at its base and flowing back up its back. When it moves, it moves slowly, a dark trail of slime following behind it wherever it goes. Little droplets that get left behind when it travels attempt to find the main body at all costs, leading to some goofy hijinks. Despite its off-putting appearance, it is just about the friendliest little ball of jiggliness you’ll ever meet. Some even think these little guys are too friendly… they have quite the reputation for being clingy little buggers, and even a little bitter if left unattended for too long. Sometimes, to ‘get back’ at those who spend a little too long away from them, they’ll absorb precious items into their mass and only release them when given ample attention. If left alone for weeks at a time, they quickly fall to mischief, then mindless destruction, followed by apathy. These creatures can vocalize from their goopy mouth, but it mostly just sounds like gargling squishiness when they try to speak. That doesn’t stop them from trying. Obtained via: The Quest Event in Eris' Quest "You Shmucks Love My Smucks", and the DIY Creature Taming Thread. | ![]() Meowler Info: Meowlers are cat-like creature with fuzzy, mask-like faces. They often have horns, though a rare few have none at all, and they can be anywhere from the size of a bunny to a small elephant. Depending on the size of your blobling, they can be trained to allow you to ride them! They act largely like felines do, but once they bond to a blobling, it's difficult to get them to leave. While their loyalties often seem, on the surface, to sway... at the end of the day, they'll often be found trying to snuggle with their best blobling friend, regardless of the day's happenings. Obtained via: The Meowler Taming Thread. |
![]() Stridor Info: This lizard-like creature is scaled, feathered and furred at once. Its scales are durable and precious, its fur silky, and its feathers plush. Generally speaking, it takes incredible care of itself, keeping its body free of unsightly grime whenever possible. It can fly, swim, dig and accomplish just about anything else it puts its mind to. This creature is the first 'pet' on Terrea capable of speech, and can understand bloblings and speak to them as well. In fact, it can probably translate what other pets are saying, if it cares to. And it often does not care to. Its temperament can be described as 'moody', or 'aloof', but mostly it just doesn't see the point of hiding its true emotions for the sake of others. And while we're on the topic of its temperament - it is a highly intelligent, curious creature who will soak up as much information as possible from the world around it... and secretly, with those it's closest to, it's a huge cuddle bug. But it's not easy to befriend, and even when it's been won over, it's not an easy friend, often preferring to trade knowledge for favours instead of simply obeying a direct order. When this creature is just born, it will be an entirely white blank slate. As it grows, it will decide what sorts of objects it wishes to hoard - these creatures are collectors of items, and will always choose something to hoard - and who it wants to be, and it will gain more colour as well. It can be any shade of white, black, grey, blue or purple it wants to be, in any area on its body, in almost any pattern, as long as the colours are static. These colours and patterns cannot be changed or added to once they have been chosen. When agitated or defending itself, it will unleash a freezing scream of frost that sounds like water freezing x1 million mixed with nails running down a chalkboard. Needless to say, it's quite unpleasant to be caught in, so you should probably not piss them off. Obtained via: The Mountain Creature Creation Thread. | ![]() Canimu Info: These creatures are very social creatures who prefer to travel in groups, though that doesn't mean that they don't wander off sometimes. They're highly curious and active, but they tend to be on the wary side, because their aquatic nature means that they don't have thick fur to help them guard against attacks. When confronted, they're quick to tuck their tail between their legs and run off. They survive off of moss, glow grapes, fallen axolabeb tails and the gooey berry-like substance inside lambfruits, but thrive when they consume a diet of both meat and berries. If they find a weakened camivian, they will often form a pack to take it down and eat it together. They're also quick and savvy enough in the water that they can chase down an axolabeb, though they're small enough that they're more like a snack to them. As far as bloblings go... as mentioned above, they are curious creatures, so they will approach a blobling they think is interesting enough. Or tasty looking! Once befriended, they respond well to affection, playtime and are generally friendly to strangers. They're complex creatures with a wide variety of thoughts and so take some time to get to know; one canimu is very unlikely to act exactly like another. They have a connection to the water and will often want to go to watery areas to wet their fins and swim around a little. If kept away from the water for too long, they'll start to feel dry to the touch and will act irritable and lethargic. Once tamed they also are quite easy to teach verbal commands to, and very cuddly, though they need a lot of attention or they can get into mischief or simply wander off. They benefit from time spent with others of their kind as well; canimu parks would probably be a good idea! Obtained via: The DIY Creature Taming Thread. |
![]() Lokits/Overgrown Lokits Info: This is a wisp-like creature with a cat skull in it that speaks only in lo-fi music, hence its name. Its speech is electronic and musical in nature. The flames around a lokit are only hot to those it doesn't trust. Once you've befriended one, its fire will cool... this process is not reversible, however, so you may find that many lokits are slow to trust because once they do, they have nothing to fight against an aggressor with other than their bony body. The inside of a lokit's mouth is a lot like a prismermine's; it glows with many different shades of blue and purple, and the glow gets brighter whenever the creature sings. Obtained via: The Haunted House Halloween Event, 1(on Discord) and 2 | ![]() Baskobirden Info: These four-legged, strong-winged, and basket-shaped creatures are silent, loyal companions, their wings able to carry themselves and their contents for long periods of time despite the size or weight of those contents. Their flat, elephant-like feet allow them to steadily traverse most of Terrea's landscape with ease, and the leathery nature of their legs keeps them from being injured. Baskobirden bodies are rounded and hollow and seemingly just a literal basket, with feathery wings, stocky legs, a cap-like lid that is attached at the back, and little feline-ear-shaped handles, as well as another handle in the middle, looking somewhat like a bun on top of their head. They come in three different sizes; small, medium, and large, and are all usually brown, white, or gray in color. Baskobirdens are intelligent, but cannot speak or communicate, as they have no mouth, and they do not need to eat, breathe, or sleep (similar to bloblings) - however, they do have eyes and small ear holes, allowing them to follow simple commands, gestures, and orders. When tamed, Baskobirdens form a strong bond with any blobling they are equipped to, and will follow you wherever you go, until they are either commanded to do otherwise, or too damaged to continue moving. They are wonderful for transportable (or not) storage, but depending on sizing, they can also be used as transportation as well. The largest of them can even be used as bedrooms for smaller bloblings! Reaching Max. Affection with a Baskobirden does not give a special bonus, but they can be equipped along with another pet; a single blobling can equip up to three Baskobirdens. (Trying to bond with more than three might result in jealousy, and one of your Baskobirdens straight up leaving, sometimes with your stuff still inside it!) Obtained via: The DIY Creature Taming Thread. |
![]() Vulkilns Info: These metal creatures eerily resemble a large fox head - but also with giant eyes and ears - and while they float around like bloblings can, express some basic emotions, and follow basic commands (like stay, follow, and even roll over), Vulkilns are entirely hollow metal ovens; with small vent-holes in their large ears, and in a row over their heads, that allow for smoke and flames to escape. They have control over a small personal fire inside their hollow 'bodies' which they can use to do things such as: light a blobling's way or home, cook food, heat a small area, or fire certain items. They make fine companions, though they do make a variety of odd noises, such as a metallic/robotic sort of trilling when they're happy. Vulkilns also have metal eyelid-shutters that they close fully to contain and strengthen the flames inside their 'body'. First appearing in the Mossy Mountains caves, Onyxia City, and rarely outside similarly populated areas, they enjoy nesting in Ferrowood trees to stay extra warm. Obtained via: The DIY Creature Taming Thread. | ![]() Aurasils Info: These flying bug-like friends come in all the colours of the rainbow and can be found fluttering around the openings of caves in the Mossy Moutains - their forehead bulbs glow in low light and help them see in the darkness of the local caverns. They're relatively easy to find because they almost always have a trail of colourful thread following them; their tails produce silk-like fabric threads that build up at the tip, and if they don't weave the fabric into something, it's possible for their little tails to pop. So they weave! They weave a lot. They produce all sorts of weird, skillfully woven fabric nests that look almost origami-like in structure. Occasionally, a bunch of them will flock together and do things like decorating a poffdula tree with rainbow-coloured fabric leaves. When trained to do so, these little guys can create long strips of fabric for their blobling friends, which can be used to make clothing, furniture and more! These fluttery, butterfly-like things are quirky, thoughtful little companions who would be happy to accompany your blobling on their adventures. They are often found in the Mossy Mountains, however they also flock to Bleeding Heart trees all over Terrea. Obtained via: The DIY Creature Taming Thread. |
![]() Ribbin Hats Info: Its name is a fusion between 'ribbit' and 'ribbon'. It's a party hat pet! When it's just sitting around, it looks almost exactly like a party hat; its little hands and feet sit flush with the cone that is its body and its eyes stay closed. But just when you least expect it, it opens its eyes and goes RIBBIN. Bloblings feel compelled to wear these little fellows, but even when they're being worn, they aren't quiet. They chirp RIBBIN unpredictably and often, interrupting any and all conversations... and sleep. Just to be clear, bloblings also feel compelled to wear other blobling's ribbin hats. One is not enough. Obtained via: Special April Fools Day Event. | ![]() Wyvyearns Info: These creatures are long, winged serpents. They tend to stick to warm, wet climates, and so they gravitate towards the swamps but can be found in all of the biomes besides the Climate Caves and Mossy Mountains, where they mostly just reside in the lava-dotted caves as a fluke. The more brightly coloured variant tends to prefer dry heat, whereas the darker variant resides in more humid areas. They're about scarf sized, so a humanoid blobling could wear them around their neck if they would tolerate it. They probs wouldn't, though - while these serpents are colourful and vibrant, their personalities are not. They prefer solitude to company, travel alone and tend to avoid bloblings whenever possible. They're also either completely unable to understand anything other than the most simple sentences, or they're completely apathetic to the pleas of blobs. They seem extremely motivated, however, to learn. They yearn for possessions, new and interesting objects, and will mostly only do things when provided with an incentive. They tend to focus on items they find unique or strange in some way, making it difficult to predict what they want until they're climbing up your leg trying to steal your zipper. However, once they've learned all they care to learn about an object, they'll drop it and move on to another. Their diet consists of fruit-like substances and the weak and helpless. It's not uncommon for them to consume bloblings who have just spawned, camivians who are still reeling after a fight with one of their own, and more. They make more of themselves by mating with each other in the traditional way, and can even be observed attempting to woo others of their species by bringing them unusual items to study. If someblobby manages to wrangle one and eat it, they'll find that their flesh has a jellied texture, even when cooked. It doesn't really have much flavour, but when dehydrated, it makes a surprisingly springy, mild jerky. Becoming friends with one is extremely difficult, and the friendship tends to be more of a mutual understanding than a bond formed based on trust or affection. Their main concerns in life are staying warm and comfortable and knowing everything there is to know about the weirdest shit. Obtained via: The DIY Creature Taming Thread. |
![]() Tubbles Info: These creatures resemble a cross between a turtle and a bath tub, with a basin-like shell on their back and a tail that shoots up from the rim with a shower head and mop on it. These multi-use tails can shoot hot, warm and cold water as well as soap that smells and looks different depending on which of the two varieties is shooting it: the yellow ones have punchy, citrusy-smelling soap that screams I AM CLEAN, and the purple ones have a mild, pleasantly floral soap. They can control the water pressure that comes from their tail, from a gentle trickle to a high-pressure water gun that they use to defend themselves and their territory. Normally, they're peaceful, helpful creatures who live to clean. They move slowly and meander, taking joy in tidying whatever they come across in the environment - and if they're fond of a blobling, they'll find joy in keeping them clean as well. However, if another tubble invades what they consider their territory, they'll become agitated and engage in a tidying battle for supremacy. These battles can go on for Numbers, and usually only end when one of the tubbles becomes so exhausted they can no longer move. They seem to enjoy eating just about anything as long as it doesn't make a mess, and they stay away from areas that are so messy that they feel they can never make any headway, such as the Tar Pits. To make more of themselves, they lay a fist-sized bath bomb-like egg by the water in another tubble's territory. When the other tubble has the urge to tidy it, the new tubble will hatch, burdening them with the responsibility of raising them and teaching them to clean... and keeping them locked to their territory, allowing the egg-laying tubble to claim more while they're distracted. A newly hatched tubble reaches adulthood when they feel confident in their ability to clean. Obtained via: The DIY Creature Taming Thread. | ![]() Baamu Info: These splotchy creatures travel in herds of 9-12, eating whatever fauna (or whatever else) they can get their teeth on. They are wary of bloblings, but a more patient blob might be able to slowly approach or lure one away from the herd. Baamu will grow more affectionate with their bloblings over time, and forget they ever felt they needed a true herd. Friendly baamu will tip their head for bloblings and gift them with yummy milk, which can be flavored depending on what poffdula pods a Baamu may have gotten into. They will eat nearly anything, and have stomachs strong as ferrowood — be careful, or you might just lose your favorite wearable to them! They gather wherever flora and fauna can be found in abundance, sometimes even wandering into cities to nom on their plant life. They do, however, show a considerable preference towards the white grass in the Colourwave Coasts and Dampwater Darks. To make more of themselves, they dip their tail in another baamu’s milk, and the baby grows in the tip like a flower bud! One baby at a time, of course. Obtained via: The DIY Creature Taming Thread. |
![]() Loonfish Info: These bird-like creatures similar to the Old World’s common loons. They can swim and fly, both with skill and precision, though they seem to not fare too well while walking the ground. Their feathers are waterproof and have a bit of a metallic sheen to them. These pets were once not living at all, but once an unwitting blobling sculpted the first one and it... came to life! As such, these birbs don't make more of themselves, they simply come to life when they're sculpted from ferrowood. These creatures are skilled divers, able to dive quickly to catch even the fastest of fish. They eat any sort of fish, including the Golden Fish. They have different hunting strategies for each fish, and with these, can hunt even the most tricky fish if needed. They prefer to go for the easy catch most of the time, though. With bloblings, these creatures are friendly and loyal to whoever they’re bonded to, and enjoy physical and verbal attention and food from their friends. They especially like being offered Ferrowood pieces as small treats, and these treats can be used to help train them to gather things if needed. They do need some sort of water source to be happy and energetic, so be sure you at least have a bucket of water or something made for them if you don’t live in a place with much water. Their flesh tastes slightly of Old World chicken, but with a metallic aftertaste. Obtained via: The DIY Creature Taming Thread. | ![]() Jetsa Info: These are large, manta ray-like creatures with a jet engine where their mouth is. Jetsa are flying, mountable pets that allow blobs who cannot fly on their own to ride and travel to different locations quickly. Even then, blobs that can fly might find a jetsa to be a comfortable and significantly faster method of travel. They can be seen flying around Terrea, often leaving colored trails behind them. A tamed jetsa can be taught to write rainbow messages in the sky, although this takes a lot of skill on both the jetsa's and rider's part. Jetsa come in several different sizes depending on their age, from smaller seagull-sized juveniles to a whale sized adult. Unfortunately jetsa age incredibly slowly and tamed jetsa seem to grow to be much smaller than their wild counterparts, so the only sizes bloblings have seen are seagull to horse sized. There is a singular rumored adult sized jetsa that could be prime real estate for a moving city. The engine in a jetsa is incredibly unique. You can extract a jetsa's engine, which will cause the jetsa to die and stiffen, losing all its color (essentially becoming a brittle statue that easily crumbles like chalk). An extracted jetsa's engine will still spin slowly, providing a gentle breeze. Jetsa enjoy being anywhere they can fly around. This means being confined in small spaces such as a room in Onyxia will cause them to slowly lose color and die. They enjoy like eating fries from burgerbushes and sometimes will swoop in like a giant jet engine seagull to consume them. It's uncertain how Jetsa produce more of themselves, as they tend to disappear whenever it happens. They are a very modest ray. Obtained via: The DIY Creature Taming Thread. |
![]() Coalkanines Info: Coalkanines are stocky, bulldog-like creatures with feet that are completely flat on the bottom. Their chests are puffy and round, and stick out real far, with obvious musculature beneath the flesh. They may be role played as if they're a dog, but should stumble about sightlessly until a face is drawn on them. Their disposition is generally friendly, and they're hella loyal once their Affection gets above 10. They're goofballs who take most things in stride. When a face that the Coalkanine feels is Right is drawn upon them, the drawn face will begin to glow as if some sort of fire is sitting behind the lines. The practice of attempting to find a Coalkanine's preferred face is called the Face Finding Ceremony. The strength of the glow shows how much they like a particular face, though the grand majority of faces will produce no glow at all. Their horns must be used to draw the face. They're brittle to the touch, much like charcoal, and snap off easily. They also grow back within ten minutes, and snapping them off doesn't seem to hurt them in the least. In fact, once a blobling starts to get close to their preferred face, they'll bark and nuzzle encouragingly at them, eager to wear their true face. Their drawn faces can be easily wiped off, and this happens often in water and during play. Obtained via: 2021 Exclusive Halloween Pet Thread. | ![]() Cygi Info: Pet Name: Cygi. Pet Description: Cygis are social creatures which live in a family of 5 or more while pups are growing. Some packs remain with firm bonds, but some adult Cygi do wander alone to find a new mate, a new home, or maybe existential meaning to life. Who knows? While they are not especially friendly to bloblings, they are definitely curious, and will bond extremely closely with any blobling able to tame them. They are easy to train, but their intelligence can range widely. Cygis can produce small bursts of flame, usually meant for defense, so a blobling will have to be careful to not end up with singed furniture. Biome(s): The Smiley Sands and on the outskirts of or tucked into the green shadows of Snekkiti City. Taste: Cinnamon corn chips. Preferred Food: Cygi will hunt smaller fauna, but have also been known to take pleasure in the Breakfast Tree and Burger Bush. They can eat the same flora that is edible to blobs (and some that is not), but this seems to be mostly for pleasure. Mating Habits: Pretty standard Old World mating, but Cygis hatch from bright, cool-colored eggs in clutches of 1-3. Newborn Cygis are hatched with their eyes open and a tiny set of teeth. They are not liable to be able to hunt on their own, but they can be taught! Rarity: Fairly common. Taming Difficulty: Not really all that difficult, given there are no Sudden Scary Movements Obtained via: The DIY Creature Taming Thread. |
![]() Visuri Info: Pet Name: Visuri Pet Description: Floaty little fox dragons. They float/fly via the glowy vaza or 'metal-gems' that line their back which come in one color based on whichever star's light they were exposed to when born. They are affectionate creatures and get along well with blobs and others of their kind that share their vaza color. Visuri are fiercely loyal to those they fully bond with and are a little prone to jealous/territorial behavior over a long term friend or mate. Visuri also happily steal the vaza off the backs of other visuri when they can- especially ones of a different color. The stolen gems are then attached carefully to their own backs using their fyre breath- a white flame that they can shoot from their mouth that isn't real fire and feels almost like lukewarm liquid to the touch. The metal-gems are otherwise immutable without extreme heat and patience. The happiest visuri will have a back lined in many vaza in every star color. A visuri that's lost its metal-gems will slowly grow them back in itss natural color, but will be sulky and unable to float until it does so. A visuri's vaza is a hard metallic material that is transparent like a gem and can glow well enough to light a room. It continues to float and glow even when detached from the visuri and can be used as a light source or forged into armor, weapons, or accessories. The glowing can be worked out of the material. Biome(s): Any biome as they like to roam, but usually they're either found alone or in pairs of matching color. Taste: Slightly mineral-y lamb. Preferred Food: Opportunistically omnivorous. Mating Habits: Visu who have collected what they deem 'enough spare vaza' will take their spares and breathe fyre on them until they fuse together. They'll viciously protect the vaza cluster as they continue to fyre it until it becomes smooth, loses all color, and stops being transparent. This duty is sometimes shared by a mate. Eventually, the vaza shell will crack and new visuri (1-3) will hatch from it. Rarity: Only slightly rare in that they wander and don't hold a territory unless they're hatching babs. Taming Difficulty: Average? Once found, they aren't overly skittish. Obtained via: The DIY Creature Taming Thread. | ![]() Flitterbat Info: Pet Name: Flitterbat. Pet Description: Flitterbats are very social creatures, traveling in semi-large flocks, but are willing to leave and become a blobling’s companion if it trusts them. These creatures make great pets for bloblings; they’re cuddly, loyal, and very playful. Flitterbats require a lot of effort to make sure they are happy, like lots of room to fly, toys, affection, and somewhere dark where they can sleep and lay eggs. They have a round, parakeet-like body with smooth feathers on the body and short, fluffy feathers on their neck. Their head is covered in soft fur, with two large feather-filled bat like ears, allowing them to hear very well. Their nose is an upside-down heart shape, and a mouth sits underneath said nose with two fangs poking out. They can’t fly for super long stretches of time, but thanks to their tail feathers, they have great control in the air. Flitterbats are about the size of an old world budgie. They have the ability to mimic sounds, like fauna noises, sounds from non-living things, and even blobling speech. They can be taught words, and over time may even learn to communicate with bloblings. They’re very curious and intelligent, and learn things quickly, meaning they can be taught tricks as well. They also like sitting on the shoulders or the tops of heads of bloblings! Biome(s): The blue and white Flitterbats are seen hanging on the cave ceilings in the Climate Cave and Mossy Mountains, and the green and yellow Flitterbats can be found living in trees all over the planet, though most commonly in the Snekkitty City’s trees. Bloblings also have these creatures as pets in their homes, so tamed Flitterbats can be seen in cities and other areas where blobs live. Taste: Much like a cooked old world turkey, with a tinge of sweetness. Meowlers and Snekitties love to snack on these small creatures, but can learn to get along with them. Preferred Food: Any kind of fruit or seeds, with a particular liking to the little red pearls inside Lambfruits. Mating Habits: When a Flitterbat wants to make more of itself, it will lay a small egg that has short but very soft fur on its shell. Another Flitterbat, along with the one who laid the egg, will both keep the egg warm by cuddling with it until it’s ready to hatch, in which a baby Flitterbat (also called a Flitterling) will be born. Rarity: Common in caves and the Snekitty City's trees, and Rare in other types of trees. Taming Difficulty: Quite easy to tame. Obtained via: The DIY Creature Taming Thread. |
![]() Bonboos Info: Pet Name: Bonboo. Pet Description: Super sweet, friendly creatures about the size of golf balls, whose body is made up of a thin, papery exterior/wrapping with little papery wings on the sides, that can easily and painlessly be peeled back to reveal delicious, chewy and sugary candy-flesh surrounding a small jawbreaker-like core. These fluttery, sweet weirdos can survive being consumed so long as their acid-resistant candy-core isn't fully dissolved, and they often enjoy being eaten or sharing parts of themselves with their owner and friends. Bonboos are very generous beings, and are very commonly found happily being nibbled or sucked on by other creatures, including bloblings. They come in quite a few different colors/flavors and shapes, and their wrapping(which is also edible and tastes like candy too, despite the papery consistency) matches the color of the candy-flesh insides. Biome(s): Largely in the Mossy Mountains where they were first discovered, but rapidly spread to most other biomes as well. Taste: The black-wrapped bonboos tastes like black licorice, the orange-wrapped bonboos tastes like candy corn, the white-and-red-wrapped bonboos tastes like mints, and the blue-and-purple-wrapped bonboos taste like assorted flavors of pop rocks. Preferred Food: They don't eat or drink anything, and are scared of water. Mating Habits: When two unwrapped candies get stuck together and need to be split/broken apart, small chunks of candy-flesh chip or break off and quickly harden into new little candy-cores that continue to grow more candy-coating layers until they develop their own wrapping layers and can then fly away on their own as fully developed Bonboos. Rarity: Fairly common. Taming Difficulty: Incredibly easy to tame as their generous natures make them very willing to go with a blobling who decides the bonboo is theirs. Quite skilled at mimicry, almost from birth, BoOorbies appear to become depressed or ill if they go for long periods without copying noises or speech from nearby bloblings or creatures; they require regular interaction/communication to keep healthy and looking fresh and flowy. Most baby BoOorbies start out only making eerie BooOoOoooOOo noises, a frequent call which continues into adulthood, but they also very quickly learn many new noises, words, and even phrases from whatever sounds they are exposed to. Baby BoOorbies also grow from their 'eggs' purely white-gray and their feet and tailtips gain their vibrant hues of blue and red respectively as they grow up. They seemingly have no physical diet or even insides/organs, their 'body' only really consisting of a fuzzy eggplant-shaped bunch of marshmallow-fluff-like-stuff, under a silky soft layer of feathery sheet-skin, with a large hooked beak at one end, and sharp clawed feet at the other. BoOorbies are excellent companions and are very obedient once bonded to a particular blobling, and their ever-expanding vocabulary makes them very useful as reminders, message keepers/takers, alarm systems, radios, or even simply providing background chatter. Not only can BoOorbies learn and easily recall a large variety of sounds and words, they can learn how to speak in different voices, and, if regularly worked with, can even recite whole books read to them. A favorite pasttime of wild BoOorbies is flying up high over the Tar Pits, Sourglow Swamp, and the Dampwater Darks, then darting down to spook any unsuspecting bloblings or other beings with a loud, haunting BooOOOoOooooOOOOooo call. Preferring cold and damp climates and temperatures, BoOorbies body temperatures can fluctuate wildly from very cold to very warm, so to keep themselves cooler no matter where they are, BoOorbies can exude a cooling liquidy gray substance from a small hole above their tail feathers that they smear on their tail, feet, eggs, and children to keep themselves and their young from overheating and becoming droopy. Biome(s): Largely found in the Tar Pits/Sourglow Swamp(?) where they were created(??) and the Dampwater Darks, they can be found almost anywhere due to their easy tamable nature and eagerness to be near or bonded to a blobling companion. Taste: These spookycute creatures are hard to eat because when you try to get a mouthful of any part of them except the legs, it very rapidly melts away into nothingness, like cotton candy dipped in a river; what brief taste is available though varies based on the last sound the BoOorbie uttered, even if that thing is not quite a flavor so much as a feeling. Preferred Food: Nothing physical, but if they go without mimicking a blobling for too long they get lethargic, depressed, and droopy. Mating Habits: BoOorbies breed by doing a very particular hauntingly adorable dance either by themselves, in a pair, or even in a group; after the dance is complete they produce a large white egg-shaped fluffball, that instead of hatching as eggs normally do, it slowly grows it's feathery sheet-coat and its little gray limbs until it reaches maturity and gains its colorations. Size: Similar in size to base blobling sizes, but mostly a bit smaller, however rarely some BoOorbies can grow surprisingly large; the biggest seen was still smaller than a small-elephant-sized Meowler though. Rarity: Fairly common in the more damp/wet/cold areas of Terrea, but rarer elsewhere. Taming Difficulty: Very easy as they love companionship and chatting and learning new noises, but once they have bonded with a particular blobling they are very difficult to get any peace from as BoOorbies are very clingy and have attachment issues.
