Bloblings have noticed mysterious, gooey bloblings popping up in the world. Many bloblings are weary of them because of their resemblance to the tar from the tar pits, which have been known to eat bloblings for something called 'breakfast'.
01/10/23 Hey there!
It's October now!
We've updated the Art Prompts and Writing Prompts with some new stuff for October, as ever. It's spoooooOOOOoopy season now, and our prompts have been updated appropriately! Go take a look.
It's going to be a Bleeding Season this month! New droplets will be being born at the end of next month. Get thinking about what kinds of bloblings you want to stick into some bleeds, because the Season will be releasing within the first week of the month!
We have some fun things planned for this month, but we'll be sort of sprinkling them throughout. We hope you'll like them!
Our Discord server is invite only. Please DM Ichor or Saerfall after you've submitted your blobling claim form, and we'll send you an invite link. We spend most of our time on our Discord, so if it seems quiet here, we're probably all sequestered away in our server.

I'm sure Sire could be of help with unplugging the channel, but I can't speak for every smuck. They would be likely to help if they are passing by, they seem to like learning new things.
Altum listens to him as he explains his request of bringing a blobling in. At the sound of non-Eris, he started to feel slightly uneasy, but he was relieved that they weren't an order blobling. I'm sure it is fine, although if I could ask to not go extremely in depth with the details in case of information leaking to the outside. I would just like to keep it as confidential for as long as possible. Though if you trust them to hold secrets, then I don't mind. Do you know where they currently are?
Meanwhile, the help of the new dragon blobling greatly pleased Altum, as his plan of living with Sire in the pits was beginning to get closer to reality. As soon as the structure of the labyrinth is set and done, he would be able to start on a mission that was given to him long ago. He just hoped that the labyrinth would be less bustling than the towns or the outside blistering light.

Soma nods. "They can be a little brash, but their heart's the right place. They probably learned their lesson with the recent... um... events about not blabbing too much, even IF the first thing she did was blab about Themis solely to get her and her blobling into trouble."
He shrugs. "I can vouch for them. Honestly, I'd feel a lot better if they WERE brought in, because they're the kind that if they're not invited would probably find out anyway. It's better to have her on good terms, because I think her help's way more valuable than that."
Soma looks up at the ceiling of the tunnels. "If I'm not wrong, Yggdra's probably in the sourglow swamps, trying to figure out a way to make a proper herding place and garden. That's why I really want to bring her in. If we're going to make a living place, we can't just figure out the accomodations, we have to figure out how to live comfortably as well, and I think she's much more of an expert than I am at gardening."
"Thank you for your trust. I'll be informing her, and I'll be right back!"
Yggdra is right where Soma expected her to be. A brief talk has her retorting with extreme impatience, and soon Soma is winging their way back to the tunnels.
Immediately, she pipes in. "It's nice to meet you! I'm Yggdra, and I'll prove my worth! Starting with..."
She turns to Soma, who looks cowed almost immediately. "SOMA! I can't believe you! You've forgotten the most basic of things!?"
"LIGHTS! I'm talking about LIGHTS!"
She bounces up and down, watery surface clearly agitated. "You want to plant grow grape vines in the walls. I think they could actually thrive here... this is actually pretty big. And this really works with the pen idea we had, but instead of having it on the surface, you could lure Axolotlbebs down here. Shut the gates, and make a big glow grape plantation down here. They could eat the grapes and live off that. You'd also need a lot of water, but honestly, you'd need that regardless. Make a well or something, or run channels to a clean ravine in the sourglow swamp."

Soma's eyes brighten, dim stars in the darkness. "You mean..."
She breaks into a smile. "Mhm! You could pen them in by gating off the entrances. If you really wanted to make sure they couldn't leave, baby axolotlbebs only brought in, and tunnels too small for the grown ones, but having dry roads would do wonders for discouraging them anyway. You don't even need to worry about them escaping, because you can control the size of the pen-- it's just the size of the cavern itself. And then you'd have self-sufficiency from the basics. Food in the glow grapes, and since the axolotls drop their tails and stuff, meat in the form of that! A whole ranch. If Reinala wants to get dragons, other bloblings can even the scales with this."
She turns to look at the walls. "Mhm. Although, I think something's still missing. Glow grapes could get old planted too many times... You should try to see what else grows underground or without light."
"Mushrooms." Soma nods. "I don't know if Yume could get them at this point, but a mushroom plantation sounds amazing."

Watching Soma walk off to find their friend, Altum sat with Sire and talked about what his plan was on a specific part of the labyrinth. I'm not too sure when this will fit in the overall building of this place but eventually, and most likely after the tunnels are solid and stable, we will do it. But first we need to go a little deeper, since the tunnels are still rather on the surface of the Tar Pits. Would you like to lead me to as far down as you can get? Sire nodded and scooted off on a sloped tunnel towards the deeper ends of the labrynth. When they reached a dead end, Sire turned around and pointed at the wall as confirmation on where to dig. Altum reached out with his wings and felt the tunnel around him. It's still rather chilly, I believe we can go deeper down, how far away is another tunnel from us? Sire thought for a moment, processing the maze map within his head, and eventually spread his arms apart with a decent gap between them.
I see, well then, we can a ways more and then dig out a big opening. We'll start on going deeper, but we'll wait on the other part, since by the time we're done sifting the dirt back outside, they might be back. Sire nodded and let Altum begin to dig, as Sire brought the tar and soil to the surface since he knew the path to go. Eventually they went about ten feet deeper, and it was marginally warmer, but not much of a difference. We'll stop here, just remember to come back here later so we can begin working on it again. He used his wing and rubbed Sire's head, getting his wing a little gooey. He didn't mind though.

When Sire and Altum reached back where they left Soma, he returned with a waterborn. Nice to meet you as well, I am Altum, and this is Sire. He waved a wing in Sire's direction. He watched as Yggdra began explaining all sorts of ideas that could make the place more comfortable. He had heard of glowgrapes and seen a couple tangled around different biomes, but he never ventured to the Climate caves where they originated as of yet. They didn't seem too bright outside, but then again the light was intense in general. Axolabebs were not new, though he didn't think that they would have an easy time down here. May I ask a few questions? How bright are the glow grapes, while it is hard to see in here, I mostly wanted to be down here to escape the brightness. I just haven't seen them close up. Mushroom and Axolabeb farms sound like a good idea as well. He thought about the tar and what that could do to the farms.
We know that bloblings start sinking in the tar, but do other animals do as well? I don't see many animals around here except smucks anyway, though I'm not too sure if its just their preference. The Axolabeb pens might have to be made out of something else than the tar if so. Maybe just a large amount of swamp soil and mud instead? He looks at the sticky ground that is partially stuck to him. This stuff just gets everywhere though, not sure how clean it will be...

Starflight led the bright yellow blobling back to the tar pits. There was something very different about the pits. Something had changed while she was away. She slowly looked around her taken in all the sights or not sights. That was it! Where were the lion heads? When she had left there had been glowing lion heads all over the place but now they were gone. And the Glow Grapes were no longer hanging on the bleeding heart trees. And what was that over there. It looked like a small structure Jaunting out of there ground. Tar and munk and was that a branches holding it all in place. The doorway seemed to swallow up the light. She wondered what it could be and who had made it.
She turned to the yellow blobling only to notice to late that he was wondering to close to a tar pit. With a yell the yellow blobling fell into the pit, seeds and all and was slowly sinking
"Help!" He cried out. He was floundering around so much that he was sinking faster.
Starflight quickly looked around to see if she could find something to pull him out.
"Help! she called out," hoping someone would hear her, while she was looking for a long bleeding heart stick.

Altum decided to go outside to experiment on something, keeping the hole he was going to dig in mind, when he heard a cries for help somewhere nearby. He hurried up coming out of the cave and carefully went in a direction so the hole wouldn't be found by the non-Eris aligned blobling. He flew up to survey where the distress was coming from. Easily, a moving bright yellow blobling caught his eye. He had seen and heard that blobs fall into the pits, but he never believed that one would actually happen to fall near him. He worriedly looked at the entrance, and then glided directly over to the blobling's head. He drooped his tail down in order to act as a rope that could be pulled out. I see you are in a bit of a struggle. Grab a hold on my tail and I can pull you out.
The other one was rushing to find something, probably a vine or a branch to help the yellow one. Altum just hoped that the yellow blob didn't see the entrance and that the dark one wouldn't cause much trouble. He couldn't tell if he they were with Eris or not.

Starflight had finally found a good stout stick and was running back with it in her mouth when she saw a round blobling with giant wings and a tail, hovering over the tar pit. She could see that it was trying to help. Its tail was now dipping toward the yellow blobling. The yellow one grabbed hold. With his hands full of tar he kept slipping. He just could not get a good solid hold on it.
"Its not working. " she yelled up at the flying blobling. She picked up her dropped stick and getting as close as possible used the stick to try and help push the yellow blobling to the shore.
Yggdra doesn't seem to think it's a problem. "You'd be right! Swamp mud and water would be good, but the thing is, we're right next to the sourglow swamps. It wouldn't take very long to get those elements, and because the sourglow swamps already leak into the tar pits, we know the biomes are almost compatible. It should work."
Soma gestures to Yggdra, and the both of them talk for a while. As caught up in their conversation about glow grapes (and what consists incandescent and iridescent lighting) as they are, they don't notice their company leaving until Soma turns around, tail sliding across the space where Altum was, and apologizes to thin air before he realizes they've left.
The two of them blink, before agreeing to move upstairs to look for the vanished blobling.

As the two of them ascend, they hear panicked yelling. Sharing a glance at each other, both break into a rolling sprint.
Soma reaches the scene first. Seeing the bloblings struggling in the tar, he yells out in surprise. Without hesitation, he jumps into the tar, glding over with a lizardly slither across the surface, then putting his hands under the blobling to hopefully bob the yellow blobling up.
"Soma! Useth thiff!" Yggdra mouths, a juvenile length of glow grape vine in her mouth. She spits it out at the others, and the vine falls into the tar, how light it is keeping it afloat.
With the help of three people, hopefully the blobling will be easier to save...

Starflight had been trying to push the blobling with the stick. But the tar made it to hard to move the blobling. And half the time she kept accidentally hitting him in the head with the stick.
Twice the blobling lost grip of the tail only to flail around and manage to catch it again. He was now up to his head in the black tar. She was beginning to think that they would not be able to get the blobling out when help arrived. A Lizard looking blobling jumped into the tar and slithered across. Starflight could tell that he was able to help bob the blobling up as more of the blobling was now showing above the tar. Just then a vine of glow grapes slapped into the tar right next to the two bloblings.
The Yellow blobling switched from trying to keep a hold on the tail and moved to grasp the vine with his mouth. Which seemed to work.
"He's got it. He's got it. Help me pull him out." Starflight said. Then she grabbed a hold the end of the vine and starts to pull.
The yellow blobling finally gets dragged on land. He lays on his back covered in black tar. Starflight did not know what she was going to do help get the tar off him and as she was contemplating it a scene unfolds in her mind. There were lots of bloblings around most of them seemed to be staring a large screen and on that screen was Yumi and was that Reinala sitting on podiums. The trail had started.
It seemed like a long time until starflight was once again staring up into a redish sky.
"Oh Yumi" Starflight whisptered. "I must find her. She will be so lonely."
It was at this point that she heard squishing sound, or was that a splouching. Maybe it was both. She looked over to where she heard the noise and noticed the yellow blobling had gotten up. He seemed to be in a daze.
"Are you ok?" She asked. She bounced a little closer just in case she needed to help.
"I can't see why you even want to live here. I am sooo done!" And with that the blobling started walking away. Black tar dripping off of him.
"Your Welcome by the way!" She called out. But she did not get an answer.
She turned back to the pit and where the other bloblings where.
"Hi" She said shyly. It was at this point that she remembered the seeds.
The seeds that were now done at the bottom of the tar pit and most likely to stay there forever.

After the blobling was out of the pit, the trial begun and went for a long while. He knew that it was important and that almost everyone was pretty much there. When Ichor said 'underground city' he was confused. 'There is another?' he wondered. Another secondary task stemmed from that question, maybe he should find this city, since Yume is in it. They were pretty much one of the bloblings he had a good opinion about. They weren't the type to want to be all bored and lonely down there anyway.
Besides that, he shamed himself for not thinking of getting into the tar to help the blobling like Soma. He would just have to think better next time. He turned to Starflight.
Hello, were you with that yellow blob? They didn't seem to know how the pits work, with it being sticky and all.

Soma nods thoughtfully, still distracted from the trial. He watches the other blobling roll away, and then glances at the tar pits, a look of unhappy dissatisfaction on his face. "The tar pits can be quite a hazard, can't they?"
"Hey, Altum... Would you be interested in making another tunnel, just in case the tar pits get gummed up somehow, or the entrance stops working? If you want, we can leave the tunnels we used to make the entrance, except we could mark the forks with different colours, and then a person who wanted to get in would have to memorize the code of colours to get in, or they'd get completely lost. If you wanted to change the code, you could probably repaint the tunnel dots."
"It's... just in case. After the trial, I've realized anything can happen. Even if Eris doesn't do anything, there's no guarantee we can treat the tar like it's water forever..."
He stares at the sticky pool. As he watches, a bubble floats up, popping with the scent of gasoline.
