The former Braves have begun digging up those they buried not too long ago, using various bits of themselves to shove, kick and otherwise displace the sand. Their cores are heavy, and so are their minds as they race through why exactly they followed Vermin as they did.
For some, it was simply that he was literally all they had ever known; they were Plantborns who had opened their eyes to his face and had thusly considered him their tether, their advisor. They didn't know anything of the spikiness the world had, its sharp edges, they were simply following the orders of a person who had told them he would keep them safe. To their surprise, he hadn't.
Others followed Vermin because there was safety in numbers, or because they had been picked up by him while they were Feral, and therefore simultaneously much more and much less vulnerable. Some, though they were dwindling in number now, actually believed in his cause and were seeking a world where everyone was an Us and nobody was a Them, even if they had to do some very ugly things to accomplish such a thing.
B and the remaining villagers have just started cleaning up the mess, but now that it isn't
a moment that requires intense precision, B is finding it VERY difficult to operate her new form. Her legs feel like they should be more solid than they are, and the ends of her feet have no toes, so it's a bit like walking around on very wide heels... the orange blob wiggling, toppling over and wobbling around becomes quite the spectacle.
But as she and her squad of City Cleaners try to pick up the layers of blood in the sand, something unusual happens.
It's not Bleeding Season, since B clearly just evolved... and even so, shapes begin to rise from the blood puddles. Most of them are simple roundlings, much like the B from before, but some of them have horns, legs, arms and more as they pop from the liquid in the sands. A battle has just concluded, an intentional one between more than 20 bloblings...
And Terrea's first Battleborns have appeared.
B beholds them, bewildered, as they all appearify in and around her village, full of spikes and innocence.
