She had decided to experiment with her plants today, more out of curiosity than anything else. They were well grown at this point, bearing different fruits and smelling ripe and pleasant. She started with the bulbs growing off of the glowing vines. The blubs themselves glowed as well, and a small bite showed her that they were extremely sour to the taste. She grimaced and set it aside. Her meowler took one sniff and scrunched up her nose and immediately wandering off without a care in the world towards the plants Lilith had grown.
It was still glowing and she wondered if it had been safe to eat, after a few minutes she hadn't felt any adverse side effects so she figured it was simply sour to taste.
She wondered if the white clovers would taste better. They grew at the base of her grey tree and seemingly kept it from burying itself in every part of her planter. She took a few nibbles of a clover and a petal of one of the flowers there, tasting something incredibly cold and sweet. She grimaced again, finding it to be rather to sweet for her liking. Perhaps if she ate the sour blub with the clovers it would taste better? She wasn't really in the mood to try it out.
The last thing she could try would be the black fruits hanging from her grey tree. She climbed up, using her powerful but small legs and large claws to pull her way up. She managed to grab one in her mouth, holding onto it by the stem and shimmied her way back down the tree.
It made a sloshing noise, as if there was water within the fruit she had within her mouth. She managed to puncture it with her claw and gave it a small sniff. It smelled sweet and she rolled her eyes, sweet was okay, but to much sweetness was irritating.
Nonetheless she gave it a small taste, finding it to be odd that the fluid was the same color as her blood. The small taste had given her a boost, immediately she felt a soft surge of energy run through her. It tasted a far more mild sweetness which was more palatable than the white clovers. She refused to drink anymore after that initial surge however, and instead threw what was left into the lava pit. She couldn't have her pet bouncing off the walls if she got a hold of it.
The fruit had given a boost to her mentality as well, and she wondered if the last two trees would have anything of interest.
She tried her tree with the silvery leaves, the small cottony puffs were warm and they too also smelled sweet. She managed to pluck off the ram horns and save them for later and unraveled the small puff. Inside was something she figured was edible, using her claws she managed to cut the skin off and inside laid a red pearl. She popped it into her mouth and found it to taste fruity and warm.
That was by far the best tasting thing she had for something sweet. She was starting to feel a bit ill after all of the sweet tasting things, but she still had yet to eat one of the pods off of her tree. She popped it open and found two colored dyes inside, one orange and the other green. A small sip of the orange revealed it to be savory and that was a refreshing taste to her palate.
She tasted the green next, finding it to be perfectly bitter. She drank all of that, finding it to be the best flavor and it managed to stain her lips a little bit. Her pet finished off the savory orange flavor and Lilith debated going back for a second of the bitter.
She had enough for one day, but she noticed something strange. The bulb of her vine had stopped glowing, the bite taken out of it perfectly visible. She sniffed it and found it to be a more mild version of that sour flavor with an undertone of sweetness. It was a good way to end her experimentation for the day.
She sat underneath her silvery tree, enjoying the light warmth it gave off while watching as the colored pods from before became more ridged. She put her cotton puff in there as well as the ram horns, having saved it all on her bed at the back of the cave.
