The good deed part was easy for Misty. She loved doing good things though she was more stuck on the danger part. With Ichor's powers faltering and more and more bloblings turning bad. She realized that the goodest thing she could do was to gather as many bloblings as she could and move them to the safety. This was going to be difficult of course though she had the perfect safe spot in mind. She was to travel to the mountains and find a cave full of warmth where bloblings could work on expanding their dwellings and grow things. There was the plus side of being able to acquire one of the ingredients that was asked of her as well which was supposed to be at the mountains.
She was going to need to gather a lot of bloblings not to mention specimens from every plant so that the bloblings could grow things there but she was willing to do that if it meant keeping bloblings safe. Though no matter how much determination she had she couldn't lead the bloblings alone. She wasn't big enough or strong enough to do this on her own. She was going to need to organize bloblings. Create some sort of hierarchy to make sure nobody split from the group and also to assure that every blobling had a role to play during the long travel.
She was also going to need to equip every blobling with a backpack so that they could carry plant specimens not to mention the need to have bloblings have tasks so that they didn't get bored. One thing she learnt about bloblings was that whether they were good or evil, big or small they would wander off if they felt that they didn't have something they could focus their attention on. Perhaps along the way she could get them to try to catch a Camivian as well to keep them focused along with the other tasks she would provide them. It would certainly go a long way at making her burden less heavy
The catch here was that they had to organize before they headed out and this meant they needed a gathering spot as well as a place where every blobling could express their specialty whether it be entertaining other bloblings via making jokes or gathering things while they were resting or helping with the camp preparation effort during the travels. She decided to contact some of the bloblings she met along with her travels to be of aid thinking they might be interested in doing good deeds as well. Perhaps they had even talked to Reinala themselves.
After the message calling them to action was sent she started planning out the initial planning phase. Namely what she was going to need to equip each blobling as well as how to organize them as well as how to impress them enough to follow her lead. With so many questions she decided to split the questions and answer them one by one. First was the equipment. They were going to need backpacks. She also decided that hats could keep the morale up as they trekked through the cold and finally they needed something to entertain themselves with. That one was a thinker though she finally found one. She was going to make ropes for bloblings that two bloblings would spin while other bloblings jumped in them.
The second question was how to organize them which was relatively easy. She had 10 fingers so she could count up to 10 no matter how many distractions there were so bloblings would organize in groups of ten. Simple was always the best. She could get a blobling she knew personally to lead the group and that way she wouldn't have to divide her focus too much. It would have been great if she could gather something like a hundred blobling to split into 10 groups each with 10 members though she wasn't sure if she could gather even half of that.
Nevertheless the final part was rather hard. She could try bribery but that would easily run out. That was when she had an idea. She was going to impress them with how creative and charismatic she could be. She was going to make a bounce arena and work as a judge to bloblings that showed up. That way they would perceive her as a leader figure and be more prone to listening to her. Plus getting bloblings to show up to a bounce arena would be far easier to do so in comparison to actually getting them to show up for moving to safety as not many seemed to perceive the danger. Plus making an arena was also a good deed.
With everything set in her mind she got into preparing for the arrival of people. She had accrued a lot of experience while building things so she felt like this was going to be relatively easy for her to accomplish. She just had to prepare a ring. Some seats. Some snacks and finally some award for the winners. Surely it couldn't be that hard to accomplish all of these in a short span of time. She thought this as a way to encourage herself though it didn't work as the tasks in front of her was daunting despite the fact that it was simply the first part of her grand plan.
She first got to work in gathering the raw materials. Having long become adept at using her new body to climb the trees she had assumed that this was going to be easy for her but unfortunately she was proven wrong. Perhaps it was the stress weighting on her or perhaps it was simply bad luck. When she had moved to gather the first branch she had climbed to the branch and she had been preparing to pull herself up though before she knew it she found herself plummeting into the sand instantly flopping followed by a branch falling on top of her.
She slowly got up and shook herself a bit to get rid of the daze. She had gotten a branch but she was dazed and she felt her confidence plummeting. Was this perhaps too big of an undertaking for her?Perhaps she should have gone for a smaller thing like giving people gifts. She tried to shake it off but she couldn't. This was too big. She was not ready to lead bloblings in such an endeavor. She was still a small blobling but the trouble was brewing. If she took it laying down who was going to protect bloblings from the troubling times ahead. No matter how cool Reinala sounded she didn't seem to be the type that did things herself and everyone else seemed ot be in their own world.
Slowly getting up she looked at the tree as if it was an opponent she had to defeat. She was going to do this. She grabbed on the tree and carefully pulled herself upward. She wasn't sure if she was going to fall again but she was going to gather branches. Prepare that arena and pull as many bloblings as she could to the safety. As she reached to the top she felt a wave of euphoria. Even if she failed at least she was going to have failed having done her best. She proceeded to pull branches and drop them to the ground. She was going to need a lot more but this was an actual start.
She proceeded to go to the other trees. Each climb felt easier than the last as if her worries were weakening. They were always there nagging her about failure but she was learning to defy them not because of something like unwarranted bravado but because she felt that if she didn't then she wasn't going to be the one that suffered. As she climbed to the fifth tree she had started murmuring to herself. "I can do this. I am going to gather the wood and make bloblings get to safety. I am not going to let others suffer because of me."
She repeated that like a mantra as she gathered more and more wood with the pile growing ever larger and finally she had enough wood to prepare her gathering spot. The emotions she felt couldn't be described by words. This wasn't just gathering materials. This was a sign that she had managed to defeat her doubts and actually managed to something. Smiling to herself she got back to work. After alll there was still more things to do if she was to handle the quest.
Rest of the work proved particularly easy. She had proven herself that she could do this which gave her boundless energy. She dug up stones with passion. She felt like she was running on energy from a bleeding heart fruit despite not having eaten one. She occasionally heard the voice of her doubts even after that victory for doubts could not be defeated simply by one victory. It was a process but whenever her doubts whispered "Are you sure you want to try this? You will embarrass yourself and disappoint other bloblings." She gave herself a nod and murmured. "Yup. I might fail but i want to try this."
So the work continued and the stones piled up. No matter how many times the doubts whispered in her ear she kept her smile. Finally as the pile reached the heights she wanted she smiled once more. This was progress. She was going to finish this thing in an iffy however as she was preparing to prepare the cement mix area the lines of her doubts changed. They were no longer focused on her work but on something far more precious to her. "What if other bloblings don't like what you are making? What if this is just needless pride leading you to be selfish."
She continued her work despite those whispers but her smile was gone. She assembled the stones to make a container but her movements were no longer full of energy. She had barely overcome her last doubt and there was already a new one forming. Was this perhaps a part of getting older? Was this why Ichor was weakening?Ichor was older than the oldest blobling so maybe it wasn't that her powers were weak but there were voices like this whispering to her how she was going to fail at whatever she was trying at. She was tempted to ask Ichor but she was also told to not to use her line to Ichor unless it was important.
Her hands continued working as the idea continued to bloom in her head. Was this why she had gotten angry? As a blobling if someone else made her try something she had doubts about surely she would have been upset to. As her hands finished the forming of the glue container she nodded to herself. Ichor was having these troubles too and she had gotten angry because she doubted herself too. She proceeded to gather the fruits needed for the construction with her mind trying to find a way to tell Ichor she understood and she was sorry.
She worked to prepare the liquid that was going to make the branches stick together and she finally had an eureka moment and sent a message to Ichor. She wasn't expecting a direct response though she felt like it had to be said. It was rather ironic that her doubts seemed to only come when she was focusing on her work as the moment she stopped thinking about Ichor the doubts came back. "Was it really the right call to send her a message?Ichor and bloblings are different. She will probably get angry for assuming things and she will not listen to you again."
The doubts had a point but the deed was done. The focus had to be on the building or so she told herself as she didn't know how to respond. Ichor was Ichor and she was a blobling so maybe she was just trying to force her thoughts on others. As the circle took shape the doubts seemed to get louder. As the stair like seats got finished the doubts were loud enough to suppress every other sound. It was as if they had been searching for a weak spot and they had found one when she messaged Ichor. They spoke telling her that she was a selfish blobling who thought other bloblings thought the same way as her. They told her that she had dared to send a message to a goddess simply because she thought they shared something. When the arena was finished she had expected to feel happy but instead she felt weakened and hurt. She decided to do something she never did. She leaned on her arena and closed her eyes for some sleep.
