Chrysolina had been wandering around the library. She had been looking for a good book to read, maybe perhaps with rainbows or colorful drawings or maybe even beetles, when something caught her eye. No… Someone. Someone very colorful and pretty.
And so she was asked by the colorful being to write a book with a specific plot. What an honor! Someblobby wanted her to write something for them! She was very, very happy about this. She could take whatever direction she wanted with this! And she knew exactly what she was going to write. Something colorful, something pretty, but still a good read full of happy drama.
She thought quietly to herself. Perhaps, they could be beetles. She thought of two specific beetles, a red one with many black spots, and a black one with two red spots. Perfect, perfect! This was going to be perfect. She started to hum to herself as she jotted down some notes. The two hated each other, but secretly loved each other’s art. That is what connected them. Their art was colorful and attractive, not just to them, but to every other blobling. That is what drew them together despite their rough beginnings, and ultimately, made them become closer than ever. This was absolute perfection. She hummed louder, and began to write with her multi-colored ink.
“What is that you’re drawing?” Lady asked, looking over at her fellow blobling’s painting.
“And why does it matter to you what I’m painting? Can’t you leave me be, Lady?” Bird gave a soft snarl, before continuing on with her drawing.
“Aw, come on! Just show me for a moment, Bird.”
“I’m not going to show you. Please shut your damn blobling mouth for once in your stupid life.”
Lady decided to look anyway, and started to blush a bit. “You’re drawing… Me?”
“NO!” Bird screamed, crumpled up the paper, and threw it into the distance.
Lady ran after it, and retrieved it, getting a better look after flattening out the paper. “Thank you… I love it.”
(Completely unrelated note: IT'S A FUCKING BESTSELLER)
