To just pop into being was quite the strange sensation. It was unsettling, really. One moment, he had no memories, nothing was sticking in his conscious. And then, all of a sudden, he could remember what he had just thought. Words began to stream through his brain, overwhelming him as they continued to float about rather than just immediately fading into the void. He also realized that he had feeling in his squishy, round body. He could feel the cold ground beneath him. His eyes blinked as he stared upwards at a light that was overwhelmingly bright to him as he had never experienced light before. Somehow, though, he knew words for many things. Not all the things, of course, but somehow he knew some of the things. Like the light above him was coming from moss and he was in a cave.
How he knew these things were absolutely beyond him, but he didn't dwell on it long. He soon felt compelled to rock his body, tipping until he could roll a short distance to a pool of water near him. As he got close to it's edge, he realized that his mouth felt dry. Not that he needed food or anything, but he was filled with an overwhelming urge to get a drink. As he did, he gasped, as the water was so cold it took his breath away. Why was everything here so cold? He wasn't even sure if there were things that were anything other than cold.
Luckily for him, he had blipped into being in a cave. He was relatively safe to figure out life, whatever that might mean. He shuffled his body, turning towards the cave entrance, and had to blink rapidly and squint his big blue eyes. If he'd thought the moss was bright, it was nothing compared to out there! Perhaps it was the glimmer of the sunlight on the snow, but it was painful to look at. He turned again, shielding his sensitive green eyes from the light. No, he thought he might like it much better in the cave.
