Oh no it's wet [OPEN]

Embasan peered curiously down at the rippling water, then jumped back with an entirely undignified squeal as the blobling broke the surface. They skittered back to a safe distance--well, safeish. It certainly felt safe, although to a predator the distance would've been inconsequential. Still, Embasan had never met any predators yet in their young life, so they could be excused this error of thinking, surely.

But when nothing chased after them, they peered back in the direction from where they'd come. Nope, nothing. But they'd surely seen something, hadn't they? Embasan wriggled around nervously, then rolled incrementally closer. Still nothing. And then they abandoned all caution to the wind and rolled back to the strange thing in the water.

Oh. Just another blobling! That was okay, then. "Hello, new friend!" they piped out cheerfully, giggling a little as they noticed the blob was completely upside down. "What are you doing?" they asked curiously, leaning just a little into the water to get a better look. "...Is there something interesting down there? I wanna see too!" And with that, Embasan promptly submerged themself underwater, straining to see.... whatever it was, that seemed so fascinating.
