01/10/23 Hey there!
It's October now!
We've updated the Art Prompts and Writing Prompts with some new stuff for October, as ever. It's spoooooOOOOoopy season now, and our prompts have been updated appropriately! Go take a look.
It's going to be a Bleeding Season this month! New droplets will be being born at the end of next month. Get thinking about what kinds of bloblings you want to stick into some bleeds, because the Season will be releasing within the first week of the month!
We have some fun things planned for this month, but we'll be sort of sprinkling them throughout. We hope you'll like them!
Our Discord server is invite only. Please DM Ichor or Saerfall after you've submitted your blobling claim form, and we'll send you an invite link. We spend most of our time on our Discord, so if it seems quiet here, we're probably all sequestered away in our server.
It was an intrinsic part of Belyrion's personality to provoke others. Because of this, there were bloblings that occasionally were provoked to the point of aggression. This included a rare show of physical aggression, something which Belyrion had not been exposed to until recently. But Belyrion didn't mind in the least. It had been a moment of excitement, and they lived for those moments.
However, if Belyrion never trained, those moments of battle would be quite dull indeed. While Belyrion did not mind the idea of losing a fight since that sounded equally as interesting as winning to them, it would be no fun to be unable to provoke others in a fight as well. The solution to this, in their mind, was to learn to dodge.
And so that thought process had led Belyrion to this moment, rolling around as fast as they could in the training ground they had claimed for their own. It was dizzying. It was delightful.
But mostly it was literally dizzying. They shut their golden eyes to try and block out the building feeling of nausea, though it was only partially successful.
In the end, it would be worth it to stare down an opponent in triumph as the opponent missed their hit, however. They looked forward to the taunts that they could give in response. Indeed, how fun that would be.
Dodging was all well and good, but Belyrion was determined to figure out how to take a hit when one landed. They wanted to laugh in their opponent's face as said opponent's successful hit turned out weaker than intended.
Basically, Belyrion wanted to toy with their foes. Though that was nothing new, considering that Belyrion wished to toy with pretty much everyone. That was how they found their joy in life.
That being the case, Belyrion was practicing defensive stances. They could move their current shape with a hit, they decided. But moving with a hit was dull. Belyrion wanted to take the hit head on. So they practiced standing strong, imagining themself as an immovable object.
Rocks could be moved when one used enough force, but if they were a mountain, all the opponent could do was try to erode their defenses. So Belyrion chose to be the strong mountain that stood tall.
It would be easier to fight if they had limbs, Belyrion could acknowledge. As they were, they certainly could not throw a punch or do a kick. That would require arms or legs respectively. But rather than be deterred by their lack of limbs, Belyrion eagerly accepted this difficult scenario of fighting without.
Easy mattered not to them, after all. In fact, as easy was often dull, Belyrion preferred the exact opposite. Belyrion needed the challenge. If they could not punch or kick, they would roll.
Their rolling had gotten faster with some earlier practice, so they imagined they could use the momentum of throwing themself towards another as an attack in itself.
So they worked on pushing a rock around with the force of their rolling. It moved barely at all with their force at the moment, but they were determined.
Even if they found their strength still lacking, Belyrion was making progress gradually. This would work with time, and that was a thrilling thought.

Health Training - Level One
As much as Belyrion was enjoying the challenges that came with training, they could admit that it was tiring to work on so many skills one after another. Belyrion was not a very restful blobling as they were always on the move while searching for their next obsession.
But even if restfulness was not in their nature, they knew that sleep was a necessity to staying healthy. So, Belyrion found themself a comfortable place to rest. Then they settled in, making themself as cozy as possible. Soon enough, Belyrion found themself drifting off to sleep.
And their dreams were pleasant ones. Belyrion would not remember their dreams when they woke up, but they would retain a feeling of contentment when they were awake. They would feel renewed by energy, and they would be eager to continue training.
For now, though, there was no training. There was only sleep, and that was not a bad thing.

Health Training - Level Two
When they woke up, Belyrion was indeed full of energy. However, they felt hunger gnawing at them as well. It had been a while since they had ate, now that Belyrion thought of it. Food, and therefore eating, often struck Belyrion as a very boring endeavor. It might have been more interesting if Belyrion hunted fauna, but Belyrion preferred to observe fauna, not eat it.
That being the case, it was time for Belyrion to search out and consume some flora. But, it could not be any flora. Their craving was for a very specific meal. It was an easy enough find, though most would avoid this fruit once they knew the consequences of eating it. Belyrion was not 'most'.
And so Belyrion set off to the border between the Smiley Sands and the Sourglow Swamp. It was not a difficult journey to get there. Getting back would be far more complicated. For Belyrion was here for the fruit of a Bleeding Heart Tree.
They hovered enough to get to a lower branch, then hovered on that branch to get to another branch with fruit. Belyrion grabbed not one, not two, but three fruit from the tree. Of course, lacking hands as they were, Belyrion could only store the food in their mouth.
Which was the tricky part. Now, Belyrion had to get back to the safety of their training ground with their chosen meal without accidentally consuming any bit before they were ready. It would not do to pass out in the open, after all.
They had almost made it back to their training ground when they realized by the sweet taste in their mouth and the further increase of their energy, that one of the fruit must have broke. Deciding there was no point waiting anymore, Belyrion consumed all of the remaining fruit. The effect intensified, and they found themself reaching the training ground speedily.
Now they would train- Until the crash came, at least.

Movement Training - Level 1
With the surge of energy granted by consuming not just one but three fruits of a Bleeding Heart Tree, Belyrion thought this a fine time indeed to begin training with movement. Due to the fruits, they were moving faster than usual.
So they began their training by dashing back and forth across of their training grounds, making a mental note of their top speed achieved each and every time. While it was not necessarily accurate to their true speed, it still prepared them for doing the correct movements to be faster.
And, furthermore, it gave them a goal to work for. One day, they would not need those fruits to reach these numbers. It may not be a day anytime soon, but it would happened. This they vowed to themself.
But, inevitably, they began to slow after continuously training their movement. Mere moments after they began to slow, they crashed from the fruits, and they crashed hard. They were sent deep into slumber. And with slumber came dreams.

Health Training - Level Three
Their slumber was deep, and Belyrion was drawn deep into dreams. Deeper than they perhaps would have preferred, for though at first the dream was innocuous enough there was a swiftly growing awareness. Belyrion was struck by the knowledge that they were asleep.
But they did not remember how they fell asleep, and they could not shift their dream despite knowing it was such. They certainly tried, imagining a greal deal of amusing scenarios they would enjoy existing within. But none of those imaginings came to life within the dream.
The dream simply tried to continue, with Belyrion stuck playing a part, and they were a blobling that highly valued their own free will. It grated on them to be a puppet even within their own dream. And so they tried to wake up.
Greeting them was their training grounds, and for a moment they felt relief. But the details were slightly off. And they realized they were still dreaming. This scenario of seemingly waking and then realizing the waking was false continued in an agonizing cycle.
It came to the point where Belyrion was feeling hopeless, an unusual feeling for the blobling as well as an extremely unnerving one for they were so very close to giving up on ever waking.
That was, of course, when Belyrion truly woke. For a long moment, they gazed around taking everything in to be certain of their own wakefulness. If only they had more eyes, they wryly considered. But everything was as it should be, and they truly felt awake. They remembered why they had slept so deep as they had, as well, unlike when they were dreaming.
Still, a feeling of uneasiness lingered. For though Belyrion had woken up in the end, they could clearly recall the resignation of nearly giving up. Giving up was not in their nature. Or, at least, they had not thought so.
Perhaps, if they were stronger, they need not fear such resignation.
With that new resolve, they set themself to training with even more motivation than prior.
