“I wish to witness what it is you do entertain yourself."
Evrah froze briefly as the thought of green fur and pink eyes flashed in his mind. Sense quickly reasserted itself however. Reinala- the godborn of Themis- was most certainly not asking him to... No, indeed not. Of course not. Surely, she was looking for activities that she could do herself.
Most of Evrah’s eyes slid to the side as he considered her request. He hadn’t come here to entertain. He only wished to deliver a well overdue message that he’d been sitting on since the tours had ended. However, something about Reinala bothered him. His eyes gravitated back to her figure. It was decidedly more… sleek and mature than when he’d seen her last. The halo was radiant. And sharp. The crystals were longer. And sharp. Her eyes, even in their apparent deadpan boredom, were also… sharp.
These features didn’t have to mean anything… and yet.
A nameless ache parted his lips before he came back to himself. Are you okay? He spoke over the words that had tried to climb out, “My preferred entertainment is blob watching.” He watched her closely as he said this, waiting for something. He wasn’t sure what he expected, but when nothing happened he drawled, “Though I suppose if you wish to watch me do so, we would need a subject other than ourselves.”
After a bit of internal debate, and finding that Reinala was indeed willing to travel, the two found themselves in the park-like area of Onyxia. Evrah scanned the blobs that passed looking for a good subject to point Reinala to as an example.
“Ev-er-r-ra-ahh” The black blob turned back at the soft yawn of his name. A small sleepy pale blob, the plushie he had traded her, and the fabric she and the plush were overly bundled in, sat tucked against a blue meowler who was also napping. “Hiii~”
Evrah’s eyes lit with amusement even as he looked down his snout at the blob bundle. “Hello.” He greeted flatly taking a few steps over to tower over the little blob. She wiggled in her fabric cocoon trying to turn to look up at him. Her efforts were sluggish and ineffective. After a few failed attempts it became clear her wiggling would get her nowhere. That’s when Lullaby, disturbed by the movement, curled in on himself unknowingly rolling the little blob onto her face.
She made an indistinct noise, a few more vigorous wiggles, and a gargle. Evrah watched the struggle with a slight curve to his mouth.
“Haalp.”
With a smirk and a large paw he rolled Vyennia over. “What’s your offer?” He prompted.
Large eyes blinked up at him as she contemplated. “Ummm… I can offeerrrr….. the blanket?”
“Mmm,” He made a show of frowning down at her.
“Oooorrr uhhh if freed I can get a fishie for you?”
He looked away as if disinterested and started to roll the little blob back over on to her face slowly.
“Aaaaaaaaaaa nooooooooooooo” The swaddled blob wiggled with a bit more vigor at her impending abandonment. At least until she was spun for another loop, and then another. By the time she was free the little blob was giggling.
“I expect no less than three quality fish next we meet.” The serious stern expression as he stared down at her did nothing to hide warmth in his voice. He didn’t linger as Vyennia giggled out her consent. Reinala had waited patiently- as far as Evrah could tell- and it would be rude to keep her waiting longer.
Evrah led the god-born around Onyxia, pausing occasionally as he was approached by those that knew him. Some he introduced to Reinala- Kivrin and Vindayr as they were running some errand for the librarian. Some he avoided- Caspen, he abruptly changed coarse deciding the arena would be a better location. Some he failed to avoid- Velvet, who insisted they stay and watch the next match as she bantered with Parabellum. Evrah had tactfully placed himself as a glaring barrier to spare Reinala the many-limbed blob’s attention. Velvet seemed to have received the message.
Eventually, the black blob had to admit defeat. With everyone approaching him it was hard to actually blob-watch. With a disgruntled sigh he finally conceded, “Usually I can find myself a perch and someone is up to some form of mischief-making or drama. My apologies for dragging you around in vain, it seems this just isn’t the number for it.”
