smooth talking cats

 Rekker had lost his quarry. He let out a derisive huff at the absent blobs he'd been following. They had dipped out of sight after slipping and falling down the opposite side of a small hill. By the time he caught up, they were already gone. The only way he could think to find them now, would be to message them directly. Which... he couldn't do. It would entirely defeat the point of trying to let them think they were off on their own. 

Pink eyes scanned around briefly before he gave up with a shrug. The smaller pups were probably fine. If he went back to the towers before them though Evrah might think he hadn't bothered. If he took his time however, perhaps he wouldn't be questioned. With that in mind he made to take a more scenic route home only to stop when someone called out.

Leaning out from around a bleeding heart tree he easily spotted the source. A small brown feline-like blob. She didn't seem to be anything special... Stepping out into the open with a confident stride Rekker regarded the stranger with his head held high.

"No." He answered bluntly with a hint of amusement in his voice. "But I am here." Then swiftly followed up with a more proper introduction, "Name's Rekker. And, you are?" There was a slight flicker of a frown as he quietly cleared his throat but it was gone quickly enough. 

 "I'm sure." The racoon-drake drawled in response to Pam's assertion that she hasn't been around anyone in an ambiguous amount of time. Either a recent spawn or they've been lost to the wilderness he figured... or they wanted him to think as much. His eyes narrowed a bit at the potential for manipulation, but didn't comment on it. "But no, I'm just passing through myself, however if you managed to intrude in the middle of nowhere that might almost be impressive."

He took a step away from the other blob, mouth opening to bid Pam farewell as he intended to move on, indifferent to her situation. He figured, from her own words, she likely hadn't seen the two pups he'd been following and was thus- useless to him. Except... he shifted, head turning back to the feline blob with a considering look.

"I suppose you may not realize this- if you've been stranded out here- but there's actually a city called Onyxia here in the swamps that the First Order Of Lissome is based out of." He didn't bother pointing out that they were rather close to said city, "They're a big deal. A group of heroes dedicated to helping others- in exchange for some measly favors, they really are quite generous. If you were looking for help, reaching out to them would definitely be the way to go. There is a process..." He intoned as if apologizing for the hassle before he cast a casual glance around as if he wanted to be sure they weren't overheard. It was a little silly, all things considered, but he figured everyone liked a good implied secret. "But my blood father happens to be their leader and I could definitely be your contact and reach out to them if you'd like help finding civilization. It would be a shame for you to be stuck out here wandering all alone for who knows how long. The next blob who happens by could be feral."
