Equustar
It was a pleasant Number out and about and Equustar had just returned from the Tar Pits. They were relaxed, as they were usually, but felt particularly happy; nobody could tell from their neutral expression, however. Their hooves clacked against some stones that littered the swampy area, and their tail just barely swept the ground, picking up some mud and miscellaneous. When they felt their tail getting too bogged down, their tail would whip to either side and sling mud out of the tip of their tail. Their hooves broke small branches and limbs that had fallen, while their eyes scanned the area ahead. It was fairly quiet, and it appeared nobloby was around.
Along their trip back to their abode, they came across a wonderfully full patch of glowberries. They sniffed at them, then gracefully leaned their head down and plucked a berry from its place. The glowing berries matched in the intensity of their eyes, and often after eating them, they felt the glow of their eyes and horn increased for a short period of time. After munching on some sour treats, they walked to another stemming of the berries and began tugging on the branch in increments, until they finally broke off at one end. They'd follow the vine back, tugging similarly, until two ends were freed, and they were able to whip the vine loosely around its neck. A sweet, satisfying treat for later, no doubt.
After a while longer, Equustar made it back to their home. Their home was created via a number of avenues. One, a large bleeding heart tree sat alone. It conveniently choked out the vegetation around it and made the land quite easy to navigate. Two, after a lot of hard work and some borrowed work from other fauna, a bit of the tree and some roots towards the front and middle were carved out to create a living space. The living space below the tree estimated approximately 11 by 12 feet, with a height of 8.5 feet to the ceiling. On the inside was a flattened earth with moss, large leaves, and tufts from a Poffdula tree. These were laid about halfway in to create a carpet/bedding. One side of the small area held their trinkets. The other were vines, berries, foliage, and other edible snacks. Just beside the entrance, going out, was a cloth that held anything that was to be removed for compost. The compost she would take and plant around their favourite foods. Particularly the Glowberries. However, they also liked to keep the tree that housed them healthy too.
The walls of the home were dark with the fertile earth, and roots would show through the walls. The ceiling had some roots that would grow, but all that needed to be done was help them grow away from the rest of the home. This created a thick ceiling that had an appearance of being woven together. Finally, for lighting, nothing much was needed. Equustar had their own horn for light, and their eyes made it easy to see in the dark.
For the night, Equustar settled down. They lowered their head, letting the vine of glowberries fall to the ground, and then trotted over to their 'bed'. And, moments after they'd knelt down and settled in, they fell to sleep and enjoy what dreams they might have.
