Bloblings have noticed mysterious, gooey bloblings popping up in the world. Many bloblings are weary of them because of their resemblance to the tar from the tar pits, which have been known to eat bloblings for something called 'breakfast'.

It's October now!
We've updated the Art Prompts and Writing Prompts with some new stuff for October, as ever. It's spoooooOOOOoopy season now, and our prompts have been updated appropriately! Go take a look.
It's going to be a Bleeding Season this month! New droplets will be being born at the end of next month. Get thinking about what kinds of bloblings you want to stick into some bleeds, because the Season will be releasing within the first week of the month!
We have some fun things planned for this month, but we'll be sort of sprinkling them throughout. We hope you'll like them!
Our Discord server is invite only. Please DM Ichor or Saerfall after you've submitted your blobling claim form, and we'll send you an invite link. We spend most of our time on our Discord, so if it seems quiet here, we're probably all sequestered away in our server.
The young blobling awoke with a start, letting out a quiet gasp. Despite being startled out of his sleep, he felt oddly calm. That wasn't the only thing that was odd however. The blobling found himself in a place unfamiliar to him. There was sand as far as the eye could see and it spread out in all directions. It felt silky and warm underneath him. Where was he exactly and how did he wind up here? Those questions could be answered easily in due time, but there a was more pressing question that required a more immediate answer. A question that wouldn't be as easy to answer.
Who was he? He searched in his mind and tried to remember. Whatever memories he had were foggy at best and nothing seemed to make sense. Not even something as simple as a name surfaced in his mind. It was like his memories had been replaced by a void of nothingness. A void... Vioid. That would be his new name. It was a spur-of-the-moment choice and admittedly not very creative, but it was all he could come up with.
Okay, so his name is Vioid, but what was he? He examined himself (well as best as one could as a blob) and quickly took note that even despite his faded memory Vioid was quite sure he didn't always look like this. The lack of limbs felt out of place and he felt much smaller than he was familiar with. However, for some unexplainable reason, this was okay. He could make this work. It wasn't like he had any other choice.
Now that Vioid had some form of identity of himself and got a better grasp as to what he's become, it was time to focus more on the world around him. There had to be something out there besides sand. In fact if Vioid looked up ahead of him and squinted a bit he could make out what seemed to be a... flower? Its black stem and colorful petals were enough to make Vioid want to get a closer look at it.
Vioid wasn't quite familiar with his new body just yet, so moving would prove to be a bit of a task until he figured out what worked. Rolling was the first option he considered, but with the limited control it would provide, the blobling could easily run off course and wind up somewhere other than his destination. Not to mention, he'd risk his ability to see any oncoming object in his path as he rolled sideways lest he roll forward and wind up constantly smothering his face with sand. That just doesn't seem like a pleasant experience.
Hopping it is! With his sights set upon the colorful flower in the far off distance, Vioid made his first attempt to move. He bunched up and tensed himself up ready to make the leap. Hup! With a sudden, awkward lurch, Vioid more or less threw himself forward. The landing was not graceful in the slightest. With the given momentum the blobling continued to 'fall' forward effectively losing his 'balance' and wound up rolling onto his face. Well... he was right in assuming it wasn't a pleasant experience.
Upon rightening himself back up, Vioid shook off whatever sand particles clung to his face. Thankfully no one was there to see that little blunder. Once Vioid had collected himself he would try to hop once more. This time he would make sure not to just throw himself forward and hope for the best.
As time passed each hop became less clumsy and less awkward. Soon Vioid had some form of a rhythm to his hopping. The next thing he knew hopping was like second-nature to him and each hop brought him closer and closer to the colorful flower. Even though it was still a ways off for the blobling, Vioid couldn't help but feel like the rainbow flower was much larger than he originally thought. In fact it looked to be as tall as a tree. How interesting!
Vioid had finally reached his destination. The tree was quite frankly huge to the young blobling and he slightly felt uncomfortably small in its presence. The petals seemed to flare out as if the tree was welcoming the blobling and if he listened closely it seemed to be making soft cooing sounds. He also took note of how much cooler he felt from the shade it provided. Voioid hadn't even notice how warm it had been until now and the cooling sensation he felt was quite nice.
