It started when Tauci came upon a library on her way back from her fishing trip. She was exhausted, so she didn't visit it, but the morning she woke up, still without a home, she'd decided a nice visit to the library might help her to gain some understanding of her new world. Unfortunately, she didn't know the rules of a library and was immediately reprimanded by the head Librarian. So, as punishment, she was given the task of searching for some past-due library books. With a list of books, and their respectable borrowers, she was sent out to retrieve the sacred knowledge. What knowledge could come from a book called, 'The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe', she didn't know. But, apparently, it was important.
So, Tauci began her quest. First she was on the trail of another blobling in a place called Onyxia... Sanctuary? It sounded like a nice place, but only one way to find out! On her long journey to the sanctuary the slate coloured blob was happy to bounce around and look at the sights. The moment she stepped into Onyxia, however, her eyes would grow wide and she'd stand in awe for a moment. It was HUGE and nearby she could hear the clattering of weapons and the shouts of some others not far from her. A fight was taking place, and at first she was scared that perhaps she'd run into something she shouldn't have, but after a bit of watching she noted it was a sort of sport. They did this for fun? Ew.
Regardless, Tauci did come across a few who were down and out of the fights. One Blob she'd spot staring at a book at their feet. The book she was looking for! Convenient! So, she'd approach the stranger, and ask for their name. Success! First book down! Just two more to go! Honestly, she should have thought about bringing something along with her to carry these books, but hindsight can be a fickle beast.
Next was... the Tar Pits? Weird place for a book. Still, she ventured on.
Tauci was met by the black, sticky surface. Curious it didn't look like water. With a nearby stick, somehow manage to poke the tar only to find herself unable to pull the stick out. She'd release it, then watch as it was gobbled up by the substance. Noted, don't touch the black goo.
It was kinda like a game. Jump out the way of the sticky mess, while also keeping her mind on the target. Luckily, it seemed sparse of blobs, so questioning anyone she came across was easy. She'd get a hint for who to look for, and somebloby had seen someone studying the tar a bit further onwards! Bingo. Hopefully.
She'd bounce her way onward to see another blob. They looked friendly, but she was mistaken. They were upset she'd interrupted their studies, and basically tossed the book, muttering something about the annoying librarian. She stared for a moment, slowly leaning forward to retrieve the book, and then did a quick scramble backwards and away. She didn't want to face his wrath by accidentally messing up his work.
So, onto the third and final book, she looked to see it was located in the Snekkitti City. Sounded pleasant!
Her journey back through the tar finally led her towards the Snekkitti City. It took a LOT longer than she'd expected, but she also needed to take a few breaks from carrying the books to sit and rest. She dreaded the trip back to see the Librarian, since she'd expect it would take a LONG while to get back. Plus, now she was starving. Lots of workouts, not enough sustenance. When she did finally arrive, Tauci would see the beautiful waters and.... FOOD! Or what looked like food? Animals? Hm... The blobling would reach a lake where she'd see a Snekkitti napping on a large rock near a waters edge. A book, having fallen likely when they were sleeping, rested pages side down on the ground. She'd sneak up, taking the book, and worked to smooth the pages out from being crumpled from the fall. The final book. Something about lions and wardrobes? What even ARE lions?
When she'd get closer to the City edge, she'd sit for a break. With some nearby wood, and starter, she'd get a little fire going enough to cook up one of the fish. Since she had the most of them, she'd determined the Themisfish would suit her. Fifteen minutes later, the Themisfish was smelling beautiful and the scales were coming off pretty easily. She'd eat, loving the taste, and contemplated another fish for dinner. Nah. She'd better conserve them.
After putting out the fire, Tauci was on her way to leave back to the Librarian. She'd completed her task, and hopefully the Librarian wouldn't be so mad at her anymore!
After a good long while, walking through the dark, Tauci wasn't sure she'd make it back before it got pitch dark, but with some luck, she managed to push forward and finally get to the library doors. Of course the Librarian wasn't happy with the condition of the books, but she had them back, which was most important to her. The Library doors were closed to her, until morning, and at that point Tauci didn't care. She wanted sleep, and so she'd find a nice place to hitch up for the night and slept. Quest one, done. And oh Eris was she sore.
