After talking to Bella, the Arena master, Max walked over to the pile of stuff that blobs had been tossing stuff into. Tiny, his meowler, padded after him.
He stood there for a little bit while Tiny played with the tip of a vine. While he thought of what to bring.
"Hmmm I think I know what this arena needs. Come Tiny." Max called out to his distracted meowler. Then he turned and the little red faced meowler raced after him.
He had an idea, whether or not it was a good idea remained to be seen. First he had to find one. Then he had to make it follow him. Should be easy.
Max searched for many numbers until he came upon his quarry. The terreden was of an average size for its kind. Which means it towered over him and his meowlers. Its leaves on its back were a healthy vibrant green. Perfect!
"All right Tiny. We just need to get it to follow us. "Max looked the creature over. With how big it was and how small he was this was not going to be easy. He thought about climbing up its body and yeah that's as far as he got.
Tiny butted up against him. "Not now Tiny. I am trying to think." Max said without looking at her. Still deep in thought.
Max felt Tiny butt him again. This time more insistent. Max looked at his meowler. She was sitting proudly in front of him with a rock in between her paws.
"I said, not now. I am busy. I will play with you later." Max went back to studing the Terreden. There had to be a way to get it back to the arena.
Just then pain exploded on his blob face right where his nose would be if he had a nose. "Why you little...." Max clutched his head where the rock had hit him. He then started to chase the meowler.
Max chased Tiny all around the Terreden. It wasn't until he had caught her and they ended up in a heap of blob and fur that the idea hit him.
"Tiny your a genius! Max grinned at his meowler.
He started collecting all the rocks he could find and stuffing them into his body sack. When he felt that he could not stuff any more, he winked at Tiny and then lobbed the first rock. Only for it to bounce off the hard rock covered hide.
Max frowned. He closed his right eye, took a deep breath and let the rock fly. The rock hit the terreden on the sensitive nose. It roared in pain and opened its eyes quickly shutting them again. But it was just long enough for it to find the creature that dared hurt it.
It lumbered forward and took a swipe at Max. Max ducked just in time and then ran off.
"Hey! Over here!" He called out.
The Terreden angry and in pain followed the annoying pest. Trying to crush Max. Max was able to keep in front of it and if it looked like it was losing interest he would lob another rock at it.
It was in this way that he found himself racing through the open doorway of the arena, his trusty meowler racing along side him.
"Bella! I brought you something!" Max bellowed.
Right on his heels was a very tired and very angry Terreden.
