Every where that Myrtle looked she saw dark puddles. These were not like the puddles she was use to back in the swamp. Oh no. These were filled with a black sluggish liquid that was devoid of life unlike the swamp that were filled with life.
She didn't know ho she got here, she must not have been paying attention and now she was here. In the tar pits. She had heard horror stories about this place. How bloblings had disappeared into the dark depths of the pits. With the tar filling thier mouths and unable to scream. Never to be seen again!
She took a deep breath and tried to calm herself down. Breath in and out. Some how it was working.
Now that she was calmer she could start to move. She just needed to avoid all the tar pits.
She started toward where she thought the swamp was. Careful maneuvering around the pits.
She was busy watching her bounce, when one of the small tar puddles moved. It startled her making her bounce sideways right on the edge of one of the tar pits. She tried to catch her balance but being such a round blob she just ended up rolling right into the gooey, smelly, black tar. She tried to hover to get out but the tar had to much of a grip on her. She struggled more and the tar seemed to suck her in faster. She opened her mouth to shout for help but the tar slowly filled her mouth. She tried to spit it out but there was just to much.
The last thing she saw before the tar sucked her completely under was a black creature that seemed to be leaning over her, watching. And then nothing but Darkness.
