Thornbeat stormed around the City, looking around for Tsarina. Eventually, she found her, hopping around and humming. She said, “Hey, Two-T. Go take care of F. I need to do something.”
Tsarina hesitated for a moment, then nodded. She fluttered off towards where Fantasia was.
Thornbeat continued wandering around, until she found the towers. She walked up to the board and started reading. Her eyes landed on Usurper’s name, and she grinned. There he is. Another name, two rows below, stuck out to her as well. Kiralyno. That is good to know as well, and she could use it to keep Tili on her side. She finally walked into the second tower and walked up the stairs to the highest floor. After hesitating for a moment, she knocked.
It didn’t take long for Usurper to answer the door. He opened it with a slight smile, and then that went away. “Aww, you’re not a friend I know… What do you want?”
“I want to talk. May I come in?”
“Sure, excuse the mess. I’m redecorating.”
She walked in, and wandered around for a moment, looking for a good place to do this. She happened upon a strange room, decorated with pink and orange, and small fabric pieces on a strange cushion the size of her. This would do nicely. “Hey, Usurper, come here!” she shouted.
Usurper came over, and said, “Oh, you like this room? Yeah, I do too! It’s pretty cute. I-
Now. Thornbeat shut the door, and looked up at the giant blobling. “Now, let’s talk.” Thornbeat ran up and slashed Usurper’s leg with her talons.
Usurper responded with an instinctual slash right back, opening a giant gash on her face. As soon as he had, though, he suddenly got fearful.
Thornbeat screamed in pain and rested her face in her wing for just a second, before looking back up, her thin blood running down her face. “Fucker… Okay.” Thornbeat snarled. “Listen here. I will make this easier on you if you don’t fight back. If you do fight back, I’ll make this much, much more painful. Am I understood?”
Usurper hesitated for a moment, then nodded.
“Okay. Now lay down, and I’ll make this quick.”
Usurper nodded again, and lied down.
Thornbeat started walking around and scratching up the giant blob to the best of her ability. She did her best to leave nothing unscratched, not even the bone that she certainly couldn’t damage. Finally, once she had thought she had done enough, she stepped back. “Now, that’s not so bad. You’re bleeding everywhere, but not so bad. I would have done worse if you didn’t follow my orders, but I’m glad you did. Now, I’m doing this as a warning. If you ever see a brown blob with heart-shaped spots, don’t talk to her. If you see CutieOwO on Friendzy, don’t talk to her. If someone talks about someone named Two-T, don’t say anything. And finally, don’t tell anyone my looks when they ask you what happened. All you can say is that someone hurt you really badly and you can’t say who. Okay?”
“Okay…”
“Good. I’ll be taking my leave now, then.” She slammed the door shut behind her and left the tower as fast as she could. She fluttered off, and made it back to where Fantasia and Tsarina were.
Tsarina looked at her with wide eyes. “Your face…”
“I fell,” Thornbeat quickly responded, and shook Fantasia awake. “We’re leaving, F. Eat your Bleeding Heart.”
Fantasia blinked her eyes open, and said, “What the hell happened to your face-”
“I fell, again. Now hurry.”
Fantasia nodded and opened the Bleeding Heart, drinking up the green liquid and giving herself a moment before getting up. “Okay, let’s go,” she said, and started walking off.
Thornbeat wrapped Tsarina in her tail and followed, making sure to walk slowly and constantly looking down at Tsarina. She smiled. He would never hurt her again. Sure, he had forgotten… But who knew if he had an inclination to do it again? She didn’t, nobody did. So a warning was needed, to make sure she never, ever fucked with her again. That was just what she was meant to do: Protect her.
