Corvid was flying around Onyxia with a weird, giant Ferrowood box in his feet. He had heard someone was wanting food in the Coliseum, for getting stronger or something of the like. He didn’t exactly understand how food makes people stronger, but he probably shouldn’t be the one to judge that. After all, eating brought him a temporary, but pure joy, and in a way, maybe that made him stronger? He didn’t know for sure. He just wanted to share his skill in cooking, and share that joy with someone. And also, he had said he would go fight someone by the name of KipToMyLou on Friendzy later. He kind of hoped that he wasn’t here yet, because besides the fact he totally lied about going immediately, he wanted some time to eat. Food was good.
He fluttered into the Coliseum, and put his box down. He took in a few breaths, even though he didn’t really need to. That was a workout. He looked around for Kip, not catching sight of him. He then shouted, “Somebody here wanted food, right?” as he started to unpack the box. A black and teal blobling walked over. Corvid stopped for a moment, and squinted at his chest. What the hell was that marking? Was that even a marking at all? He realized he was staring, and got back to unpacking his box of premade foods. He had made every single recipe he had written down in his cookbook, except for a variation of one he still hadn’t gotten the ingredients for. That Lumimish was very elusive. He’d also made a strange type of food recently: If he boiled crushed-up petals of a Galanthillia petal in a tiny bit of water and mixed it furiously, it made this light, fluffy, rather interesting tasting substance. He called it whipped cream. He felt like he could do the same thing to something else and have the same, but different tasting result, but so far, he hadn’t had any luck.
Corvid finished unpacking the box and started serving. He put one of each dish onto a plate or bowl. He had made sushi with Themisfish, Ichorfish spaghetti, something he called a ‘sponge cake’ (It was basically just flour and purple Poffdula dye mixed together), whipped cream, Themisfish soup with some Blob-Eating Bulb leaves shred in it, and finally, his trademark snow cream. He looked up at the Blobling after pushing them over, and asked, “What’s your name?”
The black and teal blobling hesitated for a moment, then spoke. “Terrim.”
“Nice to meet you, Terrim. I’m Corvid.” Corvid gave him a smile as Terrim started to eat some soup. “How is it?”
“It’s good.”
Corvid nodded. Terrim didn’t exactly seem like the talkative type. He watched as Terrim continued to taste every single one individually, then started mixing them. Corvid sort of just stared at him. What the hell was he doing? He watched as Terrim covered the snow cream inside the bowl with a layer of sponge cake, and topped it off with the whipped cream. Okay, that was weird, but maybe he would like it?
And then Terrim shoved it inside of a Vulkiln.
“Wait-” Corvid shouted, and quickly retrieved the bowl. He examined it, and realized that for the brief period it had been in there, the snow cream hadn’t melted, but the whipped cream had browned. “Huh,” Corvid said, interested in this. He had a quick taste. That was interesting. Cold and hot at the same time, but delicious. But it didn’t feel right. It felt like something was missing. “Hmm… Well, I have to say, that’s pretty good. It didn’t melt at all, which is shocking. It’s just not perfect. Not yet, anyway.” He passed it over to Terrim. “What do you think?”
Terrim tried it, and simply nodded in agreement.
“That’s good,” Corvid said. He stared off for a moment, then decided to strike up some conversation. He looked back at Terrim and asked, “So… What made you decide to get that marking?”
Terrim seemed to get a bit distant. Oh. Corvid knew that look. He knew it well.
“That’s not a marking, is it?” Corvid asked
Terrim shook his head.
“I’m sorry. I guess that was rather rude of me.” Corvid sighed for a moment. “Look, I don’t know who or what caused that scar, but I’m not gonna ask. If it helps at all, I have a scar, too. It’s not on my body, but it goes deeper. The scar is on my soul, and… I don’t think it will ever heal. It makes me scared of everything, but especially that a certain blob will hurt me or my daughter. And it will never go away, and I have to live with it. I asked Ichor about it, but… I don’t think she’ll talk to me. I think they just cursed me to live with this, and there’s nothing I can ever do about it.” He stopped paying attention to Terrim or his reaction. “I’ll be right back.”
He flew out of the Coliseum, and flew over to the forest. He quickly picked out some quills and paper, then sat down. He quickly got to writing a new copy of his cookbook. Once he had jotted down all of his recipes, he put it together quickly with a few blank pages and quickly flew back to the Coliseum. He passed it over. “I’m sorry if I took a long time, but here’s a copy of my cookbook I just made. I even added the recipe you accidentally made. I gave it some blank pages so you can write your own recipes too.” He started to get up and stretch. “Well, to be honest, I think I need a walk for a moment. KipToMyLou’s not here yet, and I need something to get my mind off things.” Corvid gave Terrim a soft smile. “Hey, if you ever want to trade recipes or whatever, I’m down. Just message me on Friendzy if you ever want me to come over and talk, okay?” He gave him a smile. “It was nice to meet you. Goodbye, Terrim.”
“Goodbye.”
Corvid gave Terrim his trademark hat tip, then left the Coliseum again. He took a deep breath, and decided to fly around Onyxia before KipToMyLou got here. He hummed to himself as he took off, deciding to instead focus on the sky instead of on the ground. Just in case he caught sight of a familiar blaze orange.
