Bloblings have noticed mysterious, gooey bloblings popping up in the world. Many bloblings are weary of them because of their resemblance to the tar from the tar pits, which have been known to eat bloblings for something called 'breakfast'.
01/10/23 Hey there!
It's October now!
We've updated the Art Prompts and Writing Prompts with some new stuff for October, as ever. It's spoooooOOOOoopy season now, and our prompts have been updated appropriately! Go take a look.
It's going to be a Bleeding Season this month! New droplets will be being born at the end of next month. Get thinking about what kinds of bloblings you want to stick into some bleeds, because the Season will be releasing within the first week of the month!
We have some fun things planned for this month, but we'll be sort of sprinkling them throughout. We hope you'll like them!
Our Discord server is invite only. Please DM Ichor or Saerfall after you've submitted your blobling claim form, and we'll send you an invite link. We spend most of our time on our Discord, so if it seems quiet here, we're probably all sequestered away in our server.
Aki continued focusing on her book, only looking up for a moment to hear what Evrah said about staying here with Hai and Lullia. After a moment she looked up again. The library felt so quiet without the other fools. She realized it was probably best she put her book aside for the moment, as this seemed more important. Turning to Hai (as well as Lullia), she said, "What do you think we sshould do? I mean, we could sssstay put and keep an eye out, or maybe assk around here to sssee if anyone sssaw ssomething? If we do, we sshould stay here at the library though, as Evrah sssaid."

At the response that the horse like blob was refreshing to the small black blob. ‘Another bibliophile how refreshing!’ With renewed confidence in finding a like minded soul, Lor puffed up when she said “Too true madam! I am so pleased to have found another blob of fine taste! But know, unfortunately you were the first person we’ve reached out to.”
"I am the first? Hmm. We could try the Papyrill trees. They would make a good hiding place. If not there then maybe the coliseum. But I would rather not step a foot in there." Celeste answered. The Aurasil stilling eating from the pod that she had placed on the ground at her feet.
Star looked crest fallen. She was so hoping for another chance at the arena. Maybe they wouldn't find the book thief and they would still have to go to the coliseum.
With Star's hopes raised once again she started bouncing. "Let's go. Let's find this thief.
And she ran ahead of the other blobs. Celeste picked up the now empty pod and quickly followed her. Her new Aurasil pet flying after her.
The blob that had been relaxing outside of the tower was another black blob that had a build similar to Evrah's. The differences were plenty but the multiple eyes, specks, and general form were enough to make Evrah briefly recall his blood parents and siblings. He almost walked past the blob to avoid the feeling the familiarity stirred up but the other blob noticed him.
"Hey, need something?" His voice was friendly, casual, and with all six eyes trained on Evrah he couldn't easily pretend the stranger wasn't talking to him.
Glancing over in the direction he had left Kip and Caspen he could do nothing but sigh as he watched the bear walk into a wall. Turning back to the stranger to better pretend he hadn't seen that particular display he spoke, "Just some information. I'm looking for a book, or a blob who might have been carrying a book- 'Red Sun' it's has a red cover."
"Eh..." The other blob's head tilted as he gave Evrah a look of concern, "I haven't seen anyone with that book... but I'd think you'd have better luck at the library for books, not random blobs... it's just behind you." He sounded genuine enough, and yet...
"This particular book was stolenfrom the library." Evrah's words were monotone in an attempt to keep the irritation that just kept building in check. Perhaps after they found the book, or gave up, Evrah would take a long nap... luckily the other blob caught on quickly enough.
"Oh! Ahh yeah, sorry man. I haven't seen anyone with a book over this way."
"Very well. If you happen to find anything, please reach out to the First Order of Lissome via friendzy." At the other blob's nod Evrah reluctantly added, "...use the at foolings tag." He watched the six eyed blob's face shift with something he pretended wasn't a cringe and decided he liked this blob well enough when his only other response was to nod again.
Turning to find his next target Evrah was stopped by the other blob as he spoke up. "Actually, I got a few friends around here, and I bet you and the... Order? have a lot of ground to cover right?" At Evrah's next blank stare he continued quickly, "Well, I know a few people around here so, I'll cover the towers for you. Name's Vashidaan by the way. You can at Crucible to get a hold of me."
Was this blob serious? He could run off and warn the thief for all Evrah knew and yet... he did get the sense Vashidaan was genuine. If he was untrustworthy the worst that could come of it was that the thief got away. The publicity from being seen trying was honestly better than nothing so the idea of failing the mission didn't bother him too much. They could build a reputation for willingness first and their success rate could be helped later.
"Evrah." He offered with head bob after a long pause.
@ Crucible Harvest Very well, thank you for your assistance. Crucible No prob! =3
Vashidaan shot Evrah a grin then jogged off, presumably shooting messages to these friends of his and following through on his offer.
"Nitwit didn't even ask for something in return." Evrah muttered under his breath shaking his head while making his way back to the other two fools. Eyes sliding over Caspen to land on Kip he updated the green blob on the situation with Vashidaan. "-We have some more blobs that are covering the towers for us. We might as well go skirt the edge of the city and see if we can find anything there. Do you want to go for a run?"

Kip's attention rapidly shifted between Evrah and Caspen as more 'contract' business went down. He thought it was a bit too harsh on the yellow bear, but he'd said his bit and it seemed to be moving along. His face shifted to an empathic grimace as Caspen looked over to him, and sharpened when he ran into that wall.
But then he grinned excitedly when Ev came back, nodding along with the updates the snakeblob was feeding him and Caspen. He'd look between them to gauge their excitement at the development, hoping they were as happy to get things moving as he was. And it was just as well, as the green pup was starting to get a bit antsy just standing around. This was more his style.
"Oh do I ever!" Kip replied with a deep bowing stretch, then bounced in place a bit like he was limbering up...for maybe a couple seconds. After that, he practically peeled out in front of Evrah and Caspen as he bolted off towards the closest city edge, laughing a bit as he did so.
That didn't stop him from chatting in the Fool's Friendzy on the way. It seemed like he was directing it more towards Caspen and Evrah, but didn't bother only messaging those two.
Well how 'bout that! Guess there's plenty a' other folks that don't like thieves, glad we got the help. C'mon, you two, let's get rollin!
Kip only glanced back long enough to confirm that Evrah and Caspen were following (Evrah seemed more than ready for the pup to do exactly what he did) before turning forward to continue to the outskirts. Even as he rushed through the streets and weaved between passing blobs, Kip was scanning for a splash of red in the multi-colored blur around him. And he didn't. Stop. Talking.
I mean that's pretty cool, right? Like...nobody owns anythin' here it seems, but they're all protective 'bout their collective 'stuff'. I'm into it!

Oh, dang. How weird that when talking to another blob, suddenly the book isn't in the city anymore? Any opinion but yours, huh? Oh well. The bridges that had been burned had to be rebuilt. Without very much forewarning at all, the other two zipped away as an axolabeb about to be caught in the swamps. That was FINE.
Although seeming to have much more experience with legs, Caspen still didn't like using them. So he'd wait a little while, chat up some random blobs, and let those two do whatever they did. Although now very technically a part of the team, something felt wrong. Missing. Once they caught on, which was surprisingly quickly Maybe,, they do,, want?, They had no choice but to move. Slowly, but moving nonetheless. With each step, they repeated the words Book Thief. Wanted. Book Thief. Wanted. BookThiefWanted! soon they were screaming the phrase in their head, moving at a breakneck pace for them (and a slow jog for everyone else).
They zoomed slowly past the towers, vaguely aware of the act of searching for red. While they "ran", they tried to solve the hole within their mind. Companionship was already had, following other blobs around and mildly enjoying their company. Food? No, there was plenty of that. Purpose? Purpose. What was purpose? Doing what Evrah said? Then that especially wasn't had. Caspen made a mental note to ask about that, feeling a sudden and wild urge to again throw themself at a tree, or keep running past the city limits right into the tar pits. What was that? That feeling that couldn't be shaken?
Too many questions. Thinking about Poffdula pods and Kip and Evrah's weird thing going on, they just kept running. It'd all smooth out eventually. First, book. Red book. Stolen red book. Book to make fools into heroes. No thoughts. Only book.
Evrah wasn't surprised when Kip took off or when Caspen attempted to get themself lost. He had moved to follow Kip when he bolted but paced himself to keep Caspen in sight because he had already expected something like that to happen. When Kip started talking in their group chat instead of coming back into a normal speaking range, he still wasn't taken off guard. Then their group chat went...weird. The subject shifted from the task at hand- finding the book- to his relationship with Kip.
Caspen seemed to think he was intruding somehow- on what Ev wasn't sure. How do you intrude on a search for an item, when you're supposed to help search for said item? Hai had... offered his support for the two of them- whatever that meant. He almost thanked him out of confusion. Should he offer Hai his support for his relationship with Aki? It seemed unnecessary and he felt both of the other blobs were implying something and- you know what, this has nothing to do with finding the book.
So, he ignored it.
Looking about for the book as he went Evrah caught up with Kip who was paused at the city's edge and fidgeting in place. He was sure the pup would be ready to bolt again with just a suggestion. The two waited for the bear who's speed seemed to be set to a 'quickly go slow' shuffle that was taking up most of his attention as he trudged on. Evrah could see his eyes looking but wasn't entirely sure the bear saw anything. This concern doubled as Caspen just kept going forward past them.
Evrah waited a moment and then another as the bear just kept going. Then finally the black blob moved himself in front of Caspen's path. Regardless of his opinion of the other blob he wasn't about to let Caspen march through the swamps mindlessly. He'd probably walk strait into the tar pits and who knows what other trouble the yellow blob would cause.
"Stay focused on the task. " Evrah said nodding his head to the side indicating that they should follow the edge of the city- not wander out into the swamp.
Draco found a bleeding heart tree that stood near where the city was but deep enough in the swamp that no one would find him. He was sitting on one of the highest branches so that he could just see the library. But more importantly he could see the place where he had met that four legged blobling. The one who had asked him to go in and steal a book.
The very book he was now reading. He was leaning back against the trunk, the book open and he was almost half way through.
He was reading aloud so that Missy could listen to the story. Currently she was sitting on the branch right above him. He still did not know why it hadn't broken under her weight yet.
Her tail was lazily swinging back and forth. But if she thought he was taking to long to sound out a word or had stopped to think. She would smack him with her tail.
he was starting to doubt himself. This book was good! And if he gave it to the blobling it could be lost forever and no one would be able to read ever again!
He would have to return the book! After he finished reading it first of course. He would need to sneak in the library again to put it back without anyone seeing him and without Missy noticing. The former would probably be easier then the latter.
Draco must have paused in his reading because he was suddenly assaulted by a fluffy grey tail.
With his gesture to the side Evrah caught a glimpse of something peculiar from the peripheral of his vision. His center eye had darted in that direction of it's own accord, but it wasn't quite positioned for a clear view of what had caught it's attention. Slowly, without turning his head much further, the two eyes next to the center one followed it to the anomaly.
A meowler. Also a blob. However, with the dark skin of the bleeding heart tree, the ashy colored body of the meowler stuck out more than the dark purple of the blob. The red book in the dark blob's claws didn't have that benefit though. That was most certainly the book they were looking for. And the book thief just seemed to be... reading it...
Evrah supposed that made sense- what else would you steal a book for anyway? Even if the act itself seemed pointless to him, doubly so when it was much more comfortable in the library, it didn't change their goal. They needed to get the book back- with or without the thief... he'd let the others know first.
Kip, Caspen... try not to be too obvious, but I believe we've found our thief. In the tree over there with the meowler. Everyone else, you may want to make your way in our direction just in case the blob tries something
Kip saw the meowler before he finished his thought, catching the ashen grey tail swishing along the tree. They were so close, Kip was certain he could catch the blob if it tried to run. The anticipation built as he-
Nonono, that blob ain't goin' anywhere. Ya can chase after 'em if they run, but for now, just hol' up.
Taking a deep breath, Kip composed himself and sat down on the damp ground, situating himself behind a nearby tree where he could still see the thief. It didn't look like the thief or meowler had noticed them yet: they had all the time in the world.
KipToMyLou Oh, there. A'ight, act casual. We'll wait for you, Star, 'n anybody else who's headin' this way. We can surround 'em, make sure he ain't got anywhere to go.
Star was looking up at a particular large Papyrill tree. Maybe the book thief was hiding in this one. She tried to move some of paper bark out of the way so she could peer up into the leaves. But she didn't see any book thief. She was tempted to pick one of the pen sticks that was poking out of the top though. She reached up and.....
She paused as she listened to what Harvest and KipToMyLou was saying over Frendzy.
Wait I am coming!
Star turned to her companions. "I don't know if you heard but Kit and Evrah found the book thief! Come on they are behind the library.
Star ran off without looking back to see if her friends were following.
She went around the library and paused, looking around. Ah there they were. And was that a splash of red up in that tree? That wasn't a very smart thief. Star ran from tree to tree to keep out of sight until she got to roughly where the others were.
Lullia and Nyvo had just returned to the library by the time Evrah posted the friendzy message. Lullia darted after Star, with Nyvo following right behind. The run around the library was brief enough. When she noticed Star pause, Lullia slowed to a halt. The red book was prominent enough, easy to spot among the duller colors of the tree. She pointed it out to Nyvo with a small nudge and a jerk of her head. The thief seemed rather sucked away into the world of the book, likely too much to notice her. Regardless, she tried her best to look innocuous and distracted, keeping her main pair of eyes focused on Nyvo and only one of the wingeyes on the book thief.

Lor jumped when one of her new companions; the black cat Star she believed her name was, jumped up and ran off. She vaguely heard them mention the friendzy as they rushed off. Looking to her Lookit, Lor took a moment to go back and look at the chat. “Oh, they found them!” She said as she nodded to Lookit and it took off at a slightly slow pace. Then she looked over a the new pony like blob that they just met. “Um... I’m not sure if you care, but it seems as though other members of our group have found the thief... They are behind the library ironically” And with that Lor took off as fast as she could to catch up with everyone.
LorandOrder Yes, is there a plan to apprehend the fiend?
Hai blinks slowly, somewhat wondering how he had got here. The group had gotten sidetracked here and there during their search for the thief. Still didn't explain how he had suddenly gone from the library to...somewhere in Onyxia. Was Aki alright? Hai couldn't quite tell where the other blobling was and he felt a moment of worry and panic at losing her. He shook his head to clear it as their Friendzy group chat went wild. It looked like they had found their thief finally. So, he moved towards the location mentioned, sending a quick message to the group to see if Aki was alright.
Draco sensed that something was wrong. He couldn't put a finger on what it was exactly. Maybe it was Missy seemed to have stopped swishing her tail in his face as he tried to read the end of the book. Or maybe it was the fact that she was no longer putting her head over his shoulder so that she could hear him reading it. Or maybe it was because she had suddenly sat up and had puffed herself up and was, growling. Draco placed a finger on the spot where he was and peered over the book. At first he did not notice anything out of the ordinary but then a small black shape peeked out from behind a bleeding heart tree on to bounce out of sight again. 'What or who is that?' He thought. No one should have spotted him up here!
There was a purple blob who just seemed like she was busy with something else and maybe she was.
Just then the black blob popped back out from the tree and then quickly back to hiding behind it. Very suspicious.
Draco kept the book up to make it look like he was still reading. He had to get away. There was at least one blob looking at him and there might be more. Just then a Yellow blob came around the Library.
This was to much. Too many blobs all in the same location.
Draco quickly tucked the book under his chin and climbed down the tree. Missy didn't think he was going fast enough and picked him up in her mouth and jumped down to the soggy ground and took off running. Draco and the book in her mouth.
Just then that same black blob bounced out from behind the tree and then back. Was there only one? If there was only one he could escape and find another tree to go hind in.
