I Try This, Try That, Try Everything.

Quinnsing had heard the giant woman, still lacking any memory of a name or a title for her, mentioning a land of water. Water sounded far better then sand, though he couldn't place why. Water felt important though, another itching of a forgotten memory where it had held meaning. What was water though? Quinnsing kept drawing a blank, feeling like the answer should have been obvious, should have been known to them, but kept eluding them, only further aggravating their analytical mind and driving their curiosity, out of a need to know, and a frustration about feeling like they already did. Why was water important? What was water? What purpose did it serve? They felt like they had once needed it, but now their body seemed to need nothing. That wasn't right was it?
Perhaps it was though. Certainly they had no bodily wants. So that left only the wants of their mind. To go to the place of water.
It was a task made easier at least by having now, a companion who seemed willing enough to take Quinnsing, even if neither knew quite in which direction to head. Find it yourself, she had said, and that left them in a sea of endless red sand, searching for a place full of water. The lumbering earthen creature under them seemed to have an idea of where to go, and Quinn had been content with their silent gestured offer for the grey blobling to ride atop them, the strange fluffy avian taking flight to land swiftly beside them, thrumming happily to itself as it watched Quinn from the side of it's eye. Yet for the first few... hmm, again Quinn realized there was no real measurement of time here either was there?
Well, for a while, to say the least, it was just endless sand rolling slowly by while the earthy creature slowly walked through the sands. The bird took to dozing, and but Quinnsing wasn't sure they had any need to sleep either, and was content simply to watch the horizon for something, anything, be it another creature, or the fabled water.
At last though, it appeared on the horizon. A place where the land changed. Dark greyish clouds hung lazily overhead, and below, the land changed, with odd shapes there that seemed to reflect the sky and clouds back. Water. Water! Quinnsing felt themselves come to sharp attention, the creature under them heading towards the area as they straightened... or at least, pulled their blobbiness together more. They'd found it then! Hm, but that left still the question... what was it? Watching the pools draw closer, the blobling carefully considered it, the avian beside them waking slowly with a stretch of great wide feathered wings before fluffing out it's furred body, making quiet noises to itself and watching them again, almost as though reading them.
